Just watched Chad Mendes vs Conor McGregor again

At one point, he was about to choke McGregor but he somehow wriggled out of it (through no skill or anything, just slithered out of his grasp). It would have been all over, had McGregor not been so lucky.
hahaha you guys are worse than his worst fans

Chad would have won if he had been more efficient with his energy. He blew his load early in the fight. He should have known that the bigger man would be able to absorb his shots. The weight allowed McGregor to take Mendes' shots well. It was simply Mendes fighting a heavier man. It was a battle of energy. Mendes was winning until the shift of energy happened in the fight. Not to mention he fought a welterweight, two weight classes above him.

Being gassed then losing is only an excuse thats acceptable for Conor on sherdog, doesnt work when it happens to a fighter conors facing, even if he only had 2 weeks to train for the fight with one week being media obligations
There's a certain irony in the fact that Conor won a fight he was losing against a short-notice Mendes who gassed, only to lose a fight he was winning against a short-notice Diaz after Conor gassed. I reckon the universe just balanced the scales.

Coach Firas mentioned in his breakdown of 202 that Conor has good offensive BJJ, but his defensive skills are horse shit--specifically on his back..

Part of that was because Conor trains with partners (+ his coach) that treat him with kid gloves. They don't push him to improve as much (either not good--except for Gunni, or they're holding back to not embarrass him) nor does Conor get put into bad positions on his back.

It just looks like Conor knows some escapes (ie: his gator roll out of Chad's guillotine attempt), but lacks offensive skills off his back.

Chad was pounding the Hel out of Connie on the ground.

Good thing for him that Aldo got the nod over Frankie.

Even the TD that Nasty Nate hit was sloppy as fuck.

chad did well with his top control early but keep in mind that it was essentially LnP. He wanted nothing to do with conors striking and it was chads way of scoring and resting while basically being zero threat to to do serious damage or finish

conor went in to that fight badly banged up also

i think full camp chad without peptides loses a rematch

Full camp full cream Mendes beats almost everyone ...

except USADA

Chad really was handling Conor pretty easily.

This is a case where cardio was very clearly a problem from lack of preparation.

If they fought again, I would take Mendes instantly.

The same Mendes who popped for growth hormone releasing peptides? The guy caught cheating? That Mendes?

Just making sure we're all on the same page here
Yeah, that guy was winning a competitive fight where he was hurt a couple of times in the first round and a half but had success with his wrestling and did some decent GnP.

Honestly, why can't people be honest with themselves about this sort of thing? (That wasn't directed at you @WinZip, more at TS and some other contributors in here.) Lol at @Terry Crews , as if that fight proved Conor had no heart....got up off the bottom and smashed Mendes after smack talking him from the bottom.

Chad was on short notice, but from what I understand Conor had injuries coming in, so it's hard to say anything useful about that fight. Lots of questions marks.
