Romero got robbed,

I want to see a third fight between this two.

It was a draw by the rules imo

Whittaker 1,2,4
Romero 3,5 (5th was 10-8)

but I hate draws....so if there is a tiebreaker it definitely goes to Yoel. Rd 5 was closer to being a 10-7 than a 10-9
Romero's Rd 3 was also closer to being 10-8 than any of Whittaker's rounds

Thanks for sharing! I was waiting with bated breath as to whether or not you would grace us all with your opinion and start another thread about it so we could all see it easier!

No way Whittaker won that. He got wobbled pretty bad at the end of the fourth round. No excuse for that.

Wasn't Round 1 a 10-8 for whittaker though? Yoel literally did nothing and got outclassed that round IMO, stood up straight with a full turtle defense up throwing 0 and got picked apart.

Romero won obviously. Fanboys will deny it but even Whittaker knows truth...the fake champ lost.

The only way you can get a 10-8 in that situation (where one guy is throwing but doing zero damage) is if the opponent is running from them, like Starnes vs Quarry.

No way was that 1st a 10-8, the 5th definitely was for Yoel and the 3rd may have been (if you're biased)

Yoel needs to be removed from mw. He constantly misses weights and that’s total garbage. If he doesn’t wanna out the work in like all the other guys then send him to lhw. I’d love to see him fight dc, Jones or gus

Whitaker won the first 2 via volume, Romero didn't do much. The most significant moments in the last 3 rounds came from Yoel's striking and back control, which should trump Rob's volume. If you add in the more liberal new rules 10-8's, it's at least 48-47 Romero, but closer to 48-46.

That is the way i saw round 1, and the stats have the biggest disparity between them in round 1 out of all rounds too. Romero landed 9 strikes in 5 minutes while whittaker landed 33 round 1.. 9 strikes in 5 mins means you are shut down and or heavily pacing. Lets compare the 10-8 round you claim Romero had, Whitaker landed 14 strikes still more than Romero did in round 1, while having a broken hand and being rocked. Romero landed 26 in round 5, so 14 to 26. Good round for Romero.

"Constantly" . Once and then this time by 0.2 lbs after being only allowed half of the standard alloted time to cut the remaining weight.

Yoel landed 2 strikes a minute, Whittaker landed 6.6 a minute, he out landed his opponent 3.3 X a minute in what was only a striking match round 1, if that isn't a 10-8 i don't know what is.

It's a fight, stop with your stats. It's not even relevant to the judges when they're scoring the fight at the time. They do not have this information at their disposal.

God Damn, everyone here is so ridiculously important!

Well we all are 6'5+, 250+, registered lethal weapons, and only bang 11's.

Carry on I guess!

Do I really need to explain to you that stats aren't everything and that the impact behind Romero's strikes in Rds 3/4/5 far surpassed anything that Whittaker landed in Rd 1?

He was killing Whittaker in the last round. Crazy, but he lost. It is what it is.
