Slow down, I know this thread has been done a 100 times. But 99 times out of those 100, its full of useless shit talking about if GSP is the GOAT or not. Looking for actual talk about the fight. Specifically:

1) There's been talk of GSP lacking power, especially in that fight. Do you buy that?

2) GSP face looked much worse than Hendricks. I heard old scar tissue can cause that. What are your thoughts?

3) I thought Hendricks had been popped by USADA, but looking I cant find any records stating he has. Since speculation is illegal, ill ask it this way: Do you think the guys were on an even playing field supplement wise?

Finally, to discern a bit of bias, do you like Hendricks or GSP more?

Hoping to have an actual answers here and not 10 pages of memes.

I may be wrong but I remember Hendricks being weirdly uncomfortable with wanting to agree to stricter drug testing per GSPs request, I found it kinda weird then.

Scar Tissue is a legit excuse, look at any Nate, Bisping fight, sometimes guys just get opened up by anything, it doesnt have any correlation to how a fight should be scored.

Gsp had decent power but not one shot ko power or anything. Facial damage is a pretty poor indicator of who won a fight. I think it's weird that people assume every single person that declined after usada was on roids. Dunno if Hendricks was or not.

Also, 1,3, 5 gsp AND STILL.

1. GSP has power, but doesn't throw KO blows often.

2. GSP definitely has scar tissue but who gives a fuck who's face was more bruised.

3. Not speculating on steroids, but Hendricks is the first example of being terrible post USADA

4. I like GSP more. He's one of my 5 favorites of all time, and arguably the GOAT.

5. GSP lost to Hendricks and everyone not deepthroating him knows it.

I used to think Hendricks was a culprit, now i just think it was the IV ban that fucked him more.

Interesting response. Havent heard much from guys that dont care about GSP's face thinking Hendricks won.

GSP had more takedowns, although Hendricks was impossible to keep down (GSP got right back up to, to be fair.)

Hendricks certainly seemed to land the harder blows, but I often wonder if looks can be deceiving. I haven't professionally fought.

I barely remember it because GSP fights put me to sleep.

As for #5..... Johnny may have won BUT, the old rule of, “You must beat the champ”. applies.

Yoel beat Robert the 2nd time but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to take a belt away.

A fair rule in my opinion.

Best answer bravo sherbro. Hendricks not being able to use IVs is also another thing that attribute to him not performing as well also I feel. That said I felt Hendricks landed the hardest shots in round 1 with knees, uppercuts and some elbows. 1,2 and 4 big rig!

48-47 GSP

1) GSP looked about the same power wise

2) Faces don't always tell the full story

3) I'd say both guys were on an even playing field

I like GSP more than Hendricks, Hendricks has a strange personality idk. I rooted against Hendricks a few times, he was a pretty cocky fighter albeit justified since he was pretty great.

That fight could've gone either way, and I wouldn't have been upset if Hendricks got the nod.

Pig Rig is the poster boy for post usada downfalls. He most def was saucy for that fight and i think he started to come off whatever he was on during the Lawler bouts.

I think that was moreso Yoel couldnt have got the belt anyway because he missed weight.

Where it was a close fight I can see why they went with Whittaker just to keep the belt on the guy who made the weight personally.

hows that old saying. "He won but he didnt look like the winner." lmao

That was a perfect WW title fight if I ever saw one, such a shame we never got to see them go once more. There was so much talk and speculation about PEDs coming into the fight. Maybe it's just me, but GSP did seem to lack a bit of power that night. He does bruise easily but Hendricks won the fight, IMO. And I prefer GSP by far, but Hendricks was terrifying while he had "it".

You should've re-watched the post fight press conference too!
GSP's WW belt was stolen while he was in the shower.
He didn't have a belt on his table when he arrived.

Oh damn! Forgot that
Thought that was 1st fight
