I'm glad. I HATE when fights are announced 6 months in advance. Just freaking fight for God's sake. I don't want to see fighters take months and months of preparation to do their job for one specific opponent. Ideally they should be working all disciplines all the time. Be a good grappler even when you're facing a striker. Be a good striker even when you're facing a grappler. Etc. How good are you NOW, not after getting specialized training that will only be fully utilized for one fight.

This is normal. Jones prob is asking for a lot of money, so they are just not stacking the card and letting his name marker the whole card. Also, ufc doesn't get upside as far as I know. It's ESPN that would want to promote it.
