Just had an incident with a Pharmacist today

How do you even go to a different pharmacy? Here, the doctor sends the prescription to the pharmacy you tell them to. They won't give you a paper to take with you for opiates. People copy it and go to various pharmacies.

Some states still have paper scripts. I had one in my hand a few weeks back for a buncha dental I had done.

No you judgmental cunts.
I took a chance a week or so ago thinking that I healed and went to the gym as usual. Did my usual set routines until I got to the incline rower. Started rowing and felt a pop after 15 rows.
You think I wanna be on these bullshit meds forever?
Fuck no! I don't even like opioids.
That's why I specifically asked for the brand with the least amount of effects. One that doesn't make me dysfunctional at work.

Some one is getting defensive. Plus you are acting like a bitch for wanting hydrocodone for a sprained ankle after 3 weeks.

Im sure theres more too it, though doesnt seem like it.

yeah, hydrocodone is widely abused. plenty of pharmacies are very weary.

edit: what state do you live in TS if u dont mind

If you work retail you WILL be working through your 30min lunch break.

You shouldve offered him some cheeseburgers, and if that didnt work....try offering oral.

Lmao for real. I had an everted sprain sometime back that's even worse than the usual ankle sprain and just iced and used ibuprofen. big LOL at needing Hydrocodone for an ankle sprain

can someone explain to me why these folks make that much money? do they have to be knowledgeable on tons of different drugs? there has to be a reason why they make that kind of cash.

In my school (United Kingdom) the most academic people/intelligent for the most part were striving to become pharmacists or doctors. Both required the highest of results academically.

BTW. Pharmacists are the biggest cunts ever. They all want to think they're doctors, or even m ow better than doctors. And they hate everyone who comes into their pharmacy. Everyone. Don't believe me? There are entire pharmacist message boards on the internet dedicated to them just talking shit about all their customers.

Have an opioid prescription? In their eyes, you're already abusing them, even if you just came out of surgery. Have a prescription for 800mg ibuprofen? They hate you for that too. In their opinion, nobody going in there actually needs any of the medication they get prescribed.

When it comes to medicine they ARE BETTER THAN DOCTORS. That is why they are in charge of medicine. Doctors are incapable of keeping track of what drugs and drug interactions are.

Are they really cunts? I mean, they deal with lying fuck face assholes constantly who are trying to score drugs. And they are stressed out because ONE mistake can ruin them. Hell, pharmacy techs don't really get to make mistakes. One fuck up means that they get fired and never hired again.

Doesn't matter to me though. I have been to a doctor once in the last 20 years because of a sinus infection. Had to get meds to kick it.

They are cunts. Most are there simply because they couldn't cut it in med school and have a giant chip on their shoulder. Just read the multitude of posts on all their message boards. They're cunts.

Down here for retail you start at around 70K+ a year. That's a conservative estimate too.

Even in low cost of living states like kentucky, retail pharmacists start at 120k straight out of college. This is not an estimate, it's a fact. If you're making 70k as a licensed pharmacist in America, then it's time to find a new employer.

The pharmacist tech calls the doctor's office to verify they wrote im the script.

I used to wonder same thing. Turns or they have to be experts on drugs...dosages. ...interactive. ...etc.

Drs are constantly writing scripts for the wrong dosage...or prescribing dangerous combinations because they forgot some other drugs they prescribed.

Pharmacists are the second line of Defense for when drs fuck up. If my wife filled a prescription that harmed the patient, even if she filled it as written by the dr, she could be sued or lose her license.

Then you're also a manager of the techs, need to know billing, implement marketing strategies, do inventory, etc etc

Yes, Doctors are clueless about medication, dosing, interactions etc and would kill many people if it weren't for the pharmacy. However, computers do everything you named except for the people management. Dosing issues, interactions, billing problems, inventory etc, everything pops up with an alert on the computer and tells you word for word what to say to the patients. Also as far as verification these days, all a pharmacist does is look at a pill and match it to a picture on the computer monitor. Some states, such as Arizona, the pharmacist on duty doesn't even set foot inside the pharmacy. They stand out in the waiting area and councel patients.

In the future, most likely, technician pay will increase as their duties expand. Degrees will be required, etc. Pharmacist pay will decrease as more states update their laws, allowing for remote verification, etc. Already, pharmacist raises have been eliminated/reduced, overtime eliminated, etc within the last 5 years. So their leverage for pay is already being reduced as time passes and eventually the market will reflect that in salaries as well. Not to mention the growing pharmacist surplus.

Like I said, it was an estimate. I should've said "Guesstimate".

My bad.
