Metal/Rock/Industrial Just discovered Iron Maiden

Fuck yeah! Random memory...Back in the 90s, I used to win these cool mirrors (4"/5" square) at the carnival with prints on them. More than half of mine were for Iron Maiden.

EDIT: A quick Google search and here they are. Should have known some peeps would keep them:

The band I've seen the most live. GOATs of NWBHM.

GOAT live act I’ve seen and I’ve seen nearly everyone (except fuckin Rush), basically flawless. I saw them in my home town and they were brilliant, found out later Bruce and Steve both had the runs that night and Adrian’s tone was “incredibly shitty” according to him.

They're my white whale. I've seen everyone on my list, even bands that had broken up, but still haven't had the chance to see Maiden. I'm not sure it'll ever happen.

If you ever have the chance, go to a Steel Panther gig.

Yup, like them.

Bruce Dickinson is a cool guy. Pilot , international fencer , brewer,. He sings a bit too.
Didn’t he fly his plane to Iraq or something back in the day to help with an evacuation? I remember someone telling me that but thought it was an urban myth.

Me too. Somehow always managed to miss them. Side note, went to Korn & AiC last night. Good show!

One of my all time favorite metal bands.
I'm partial to two-lead guitar.
Nicko kicks ass barefoot
Bruce is a fucking air raid siren
And Steve Harris thumps away like a G

Great band.

As to favorites

I loved Powerslave, saw a couple of dates

Also Somewhere in Time, cool use of guitar synth without being overbearing like EVH when he decided he could play keyboard

Everything up until that record is great IMO, afterwards spotty but still turning out occasional gold.

I hope you do bro, they are excellent, a true stadium metal act, as good as it gets.

only band i've seen more then 3 times, they always bring it and are pretty much the greatest metal band ever to me. Best song for me is "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", it's epic, got great vocals and guitar riffs and live, it's an incredible sight.

I've seen Maiden a grip of times. Once, back to back dates in SoCal and I stayed in a hotel with the fanclub. I met a bloke at that hotel who follows Maiden on every tour. After a show in the 90s in Germany this bloke was drinking at a bar when Maiden and their road crew came in. Dude chats up Steve and tells him he follows the band every tour every show. Steve was so touched by this kids dedication that he went back to the dude's hostel and drank with him the rest of the night (gangster). At the end of the night Steve told him he didn't want him to spend any more money on Maiden and ever since there are 2 prime tickets under this kid's name at every Maiden show. I see him in almost all crowd pics now.

Also at the second night of that back to back I saw Maiden actually make a mistake (sort of). They were about to play Can I play with Madness and as Nicko clicked it off Adrian sneezed into the mic and that sent the entire band into a laughing frenzy. It took a minute or tow to compose themselves and start the song again.
