In Uruguay and Argentina people drink more mate than coffee for sure.

We drink it hot (close to boiling temperature) but people in the north and Brazil drink the "tereré" variation which is cold.

No no, yo no soy argentino pero lo conozco bien. Yo vivía en Brasil y después en Chile durante unos 15 años. La yerba en Brasil es horrible, se lo hacen demasiado fino y se queda como polvo- además no tiene buen sabor. Tereré para mí es cosa paraguaya, no sabía que se toman así en el norte de Argentina. En el sur de Brasil se lo toman caliente y se llama "Chimarrao".

En Misiones/Corrientes toman tereré también. Con el calor que hace no se puede tomar mate. TS es de una parte de Brasil donde se queja que siempre hace calor.
Escuché lo mismo de la yerba brasilera. Que es mala y que lo toman en esos mates gigantes que se llaman porongo.

17,5 reais? Damn brother.. That is about 275 pesos. IIRC Yerba here is about half the value.

We have cheaper yerba mate here too, the one i usually get is about 10 reais, can go as low as 7 reais. This one really is expensive but i wanted to try to see if it was worth it

Terere is pretty widespread in the western part of brazil nowadays ( where i live is not that far from paraguay) but yeah thats a "new thing" here, terere started being popular here by the 90's

It’s an Argentine thing. Uruguayans and Brazilians in the South also drink it. I’ve never been a fan. It’s aright. Fernet is shit as well.

Não cara, eu não sou brasileiro mas minha mulher é gaúcha. A gente morava no Brasil faz ums 15 anos atras - na Santa Catarina. Tenho muito saudades de lá. Era bem bacana na época mas sei lá como é agora. Nem lembro a última vez que fui lá, faz 9 anos acho.
