I never said you can't enjoy the movie. But you specifically said you didn't understand what was wrong with it. Hopefully now you do.

I understand your point now. It's not something that really hurts the movie for me, though.

And why it's a worse movie than the original. Not just because of nostalgia.

I'm not sure that anyone thinks that JW is better, or even as good, as JP. But JP sets a very high bar to measure up to.

I do think that JW is the clear #2 in the franchise and is an enjoyable movie in its own right.

I mean I enjoyed it as a dumb action movie, but when it comes to movie discussions I consider Jurassic Park a legitimately great movie. This one not so much.

Watched it without audio.

Looks like Pratt has to go back to the island and rescue the dinosaurs because the volcano is going to explode and kill them
All.

Then it looks like the volcano explodes and kills them all.

Cool movie, bro.

Okay, after a day of thinking. My biggest problem with this trailer is they completely spoil an entire new dinosaur's character arc: The Carnotaurus. They show him roaring and make us go "oh shit, a new badass dinosaur", only seconds later to show him being eaten by the T-Rex. WTF was the point of this scene? I guarantee this is one of the highlights of the movie and they ruined it for no reason. In the sneak peek trailer no less.

JP did set an insanely high bar. That movie has very few flaws.

Only thing I didn't like is how they made the T.rex such retard. "It's vision is based on movement" Oh really? So how does it not bump into every tree and rock then? It can't see, hear or smell prey when it's literally 1 inch away from his face. And it's got a pansy ass bite. This trend continued in the next movies as well. JP franchise T.rex is cool, but it could/should have been a lot more terrifying.

I could be wrong, but I think the vision-is-based-on-movement thing was a scientific theory of the day. Maybe it was a situation where it new something was there, but it didn't realize it was food until it moved. I dunno. You raise a good question.

If it was just made up for the movie, I figure that's to give our protagonists a chance. After all, if the T-Rex has no weaknesses then there's no way to escape. You're not going to outrun it. And you're not going to fight it off.

I suppose you may be right about giving the humans a chance. But still, making him blind, deaf AND anosmic is kinda lame. How's an animal ever gonna catch food that way?

I love JP, but as a dinosaur nerd that kinda ticks me off. Wouldn't be mad if they retconned that.

On a related note, let me ask you, do you want feathered dinosaurs?

I really don't, even if giving them feathers is more scientifically accurate.

I'd have no problem with that to be honest, but I don't really care.

Adding feathers would massively change the appearance of some dinosaurs, which could hurt box office numbers. Making the T.rex less impaired wouldn't. It's only a minor change compared to feathered dinosaurs.

looks significantly more retarded than JW. shocker!

Ugh what the fuck is that thing, dude!

2nd Trailer for JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM

I like that trailer a lot more than the first. I get a much better sense that there's an actual story here rather than just "volcano erupts . . . gotta evacuate dinos."

Still a bit shallow. They created a new monster... but seems to be rapter size... & in person that would be scary as fook but after the new big bad they created with the T-Rex mixed with the raptor & it was T-Rex sized, I'm not sure that fits the bill. A little too soon to tell if that's actually the reality they are creating... but that's what I got from it.

Not another rehash we created a Dino and now it’s out of hand.

Yeah, it's only a minute and a half, and it gives us a lot more info than the first trailer did. I'm sure next we'll get a full-length trailer that will give us an even broader picture of what exactly the narrative it.

It seems to me like we're moving in the right direction. I'm guessing that, similar to JPII, dinos are going to get loose in the city?

Looked like a horror movie to me

Was I the only one?
