I think this is only the first act of the movie. No BD Wong yet. Where are they bringing the dinos?

I hope you're right about this only being the first act. If that's the case, and there's actually a lot more to the story, then that makes me feel a lot better.

The matrix reloaded trailer was epic. The film? Not so much.

Ha! No lie but when i read Zazen's post last night the first thing that came to my mind was Matrix Reloaded.

I will say though there are more instances of trailers looking awesome and movies not living up to the hype than vice versa.

Story doesnt seem that strong but hey this is an "action" movie, this was not meant to be an academy award script type of thing, so I just watch it for what it is, seems "entertaining" to me and worth seeing it at the movies.... I dont get people always complaining about films, geez its like they even give you a trailer for you to decide if you want to spend your money or not, not every film will cover all your academy award expectations (that I bet you dont even understand) in movies it always is what it is, and you decide, so stop bitching!

It's not about Oscar worthy scripts. Just look at the difference in quality from JP 1 compared to 2 and 3. Huge difference. Jurassic World was fine, I liked it but it did not blow me away like #1. Hopefully this will have some new different things to enjoy. If not, people will blow it off like #3.

I'd be interested in knowing how people would've felt about Jurassic World if it had been the first in the franchise and there was nothing to compare it to.

Exactly... or if they would watch it today and not when they were 12 years old. Everybody wants to be a movie critic but they all fall on subjective points of views and want to treat them as if they were facts. No they are not

It's been confirmed by the director that everything in the trailer takes place in the first hour of the film. We still have no details in the trailer about the new hybrid dinosaur.

Another hybrid? I hope they learned from the first time, and used a herbivore this time. Potentially you get something like this

So why is the island exploding?

There's a giant volcano there, so they thought it would be a good idea to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to build the most high tech park ever with the most expensive cloned animals ever right there?

Wold, bitch. Get out the way. Get out the way, bitch. Wold, bitch. Get out the way.
Tyrannosaurus. WIDE MOUTH. Before you know it's LIGHTS OUT.

I actually really enjoyed the last one.. but I watched this and it looked really wack and underwhelming

Ugh....more of the romantic tension we didn't care about in the first movie. More of humans bonding with and training velociraptors which I did not like. Did anyone? Velociraptors were portrayed as vicious killers in the original Jurassic Park. It worked. Humans making friends with them doesn't for me. Its the equivalent of a sequel to Jaws where a local fisherman befriends the shark.

To fair it’s not just the velociraptors. It looks like the T. rex is joining team human as well.

Jurassic World had some really stupid plot elements that were not present in the original. For instance the bubble vehicle made no sense.

Also that woman running away from dinosaurs in high heels. Wow was that stupid. Maybe it's just me but I didn't care for her character at all, unlike Ellie.

They finally have a goddamn Allosaurus in the fucking movie and it gets killed off.

I've seen people complain about the Gyrosphere before, but I've never understood why. It's a way to give people a relatively safe way to roam around certain areas of the park.

Is the problem that it's a sphere? It makes sense that a place that prides itself on innovation would have something that's cooler than just a car with four wheels. And according to Trevorrow they made sure that the vehicle was actually scientifically feasible.

Think about it a little more.

Giant monster lizards roaming about in the same area as tourists inside glass balls they control. Kids no less.

Whats preventing the kids from fucking with the dinosaurs?

What's preventing the dinosaurs from stepping on the balls or attacking them?

How on in earth is any of this a good idea?

If you remember, the gyrospheres were supposed to only be operated within one specific area, but the kids went outside that area and that's when they got into trouble.

I get your point, but my take was that the area that was sectioned off only held relatively harmless dinos for which the gyrospheres would be ample protection.

What I thought strained credulity was the scene where park goers were kayaking down the river with dinos right there on the bank. That was more unbelievable to me.

Would have been better if Pratt suckered it in and then touched it with teh jab. From what I've seen/read, I don't really understand how this advances the movie (to a third or fourth one at least). Sounds like it's an extinction level event for dinos...that sounds familiar. If it winds up on par with the last one, I'm okay with that

I'm hoping the posters were right who said that what we see in the trailer is only the focus of the first hour of the film.

looks like a gool ole' fun movie, great that they kept the cast and didnt downgrade just to milk some money
