It didn't look ike it did buddy.

That was thee most generic, uninspiring trailer I have seen for a big budget movie. I'm almost wondering of that's a good sign; likely not.

They said they wanted to weaponize them, guess that is gone the army angle.. the doctor with his experiments and upgrades is gone too we just have a roam around the open island now.

I need to see more before I can make a better estimation.

It strikes me as a trailer that they put together with the little bit of finished footage that they have.

I agree that the storyline seems weak, which is disappointing. It looks like they might make the same mistake that they made with The Lost World: follow up a relatively thoughtful, plot-driven film with a sequel that is almost pure action.

As someone who has been saying for a while that the way to keep this franchise relevant is through creative and engaging plots, I can't say that I love what they seem to be doing here.
