Junior dos Santos say Ngannou doesn't know how to Box

I honestly don't think, based on his last performance (fight against Ciryl Gane), that he would have much success in Boxing. In addition to his technique being somewhat limited in the way he moves, Boxing is not just about punching. It's movement, how you stand and how you walk. Tyson Fury is a gigantic man who moves very well. We saw in (Francis Ngannou's) last fight that he would have lost to Gane if he had stayed standing, so he was smart enough to decide to show his ground game”, said Junior dos Santos.

Francis Ngannou with Tyson Fury will be interesting, of course. Obviously, I don't see many chances for him. In my opinion, he doesn't have boxing, he has power, strength... The blows come out unexpectedly, from all sides so you don't know where to expect them. He has a big wingspan, a lot of strength, a lot of knockout power. That makes a big difference, but I don’t see much of the quality of Boxing,” declared Júnior dos Santos.

If Tyson tries hard enough, he can find a way...a way to lose. That is Francis' best chance.

Gary Goodridge was a Golden Gloves champ, wasn't he?

Anyways, I just realized I missed the Vale Tudo rematch between JDS and Werdum? Was it a good fight?
It was bloody as all hell. Werdum's face was hanging off and shit. Worth a look for the violence, not really a great fight. Plenty bloody, anyway.

Came looking for something that hasn't been said 10,000 times, with no success. So, to end this on a positive note, let's forget about this useless banter and look at this instead:

He said that if he'd have just done what he did to all of the other wrestlers he'd fought in the Brawl 4 All, that it would have at least been 50/50, bc he wasn't sure he'd be able to withstand it if Gunn landed, and Gunn might have, except he wanted to play Butterbean's own game, and was a beginner.

If Frank shows up to box, he's going down. If he shows up to do what he does, he has a chance. He shouldn't play Fury's game, he should do his best to make it wild. Unfortunately, he will probably box, and it will probably be boring.

Hah, I like the underlined statement because it also applies to the regional MT scene in Austria I've followed for a long time....

By far the worst you could do to an event was to put in there two beginners who trained more than 6months but less than a year because they already caught up some technique and tried to stick to it but (in most cases) was always very sloppy and you end up with two guys going 1-2 back and fourth... we always said it would have been a way better fight if they just pulled them from the streets and let them bang there as long as they can.

francis gets a lot of shit for that disgusting display of sloppy street brawling. but you really have to give credit to rozenstruik for defending himself like a sloppy drunk guy at a bar, looking like a late stage chuck liddell.

but no i dont think that “technique” would ever work on tyson fury.

Yeah, those dudes off the street won't get in their heads about correct technique and whatnot, they're not afraid to throw the crazy strike "they're not supposed to throw." A fighter used to strikes being thrown in specific fashion can be caught off guard when the opponent isn't following the script.

Any punch that is telegraphed from the commentators table just isn't very likely to land on Fury. Small head movements and footwork evasions of wild punchers is boxing 101.

JDS was more technically sound with his boxing (this is relative to HW MMA keep in mind) but Ngannou has more power and is bigger. A fight between those two prime vs prime would have been interesting.

As for Ngannou in boxing, he could probably get by on his size, power and athleticism to an extent but his sloppiness and shit gas tank would prevent him from getting too far. Fringe top 30 maybe.
