Junior dos Santos say Ngannou doesn't know how to Box

Gary Goodridge was a Golden Gloves champ, wasn't he?

Anyways, I just realized I missed the Vale Tudo rematch between JDS and Werdum? Was it a good fight?

mmm... it was a scrap

Both looked juiced up, but JDS patiently took Werdum away with punches thst eventually opened a nasty cut in fabricios eyelid.

Werdum attempted a few td but was easily stuffed by a more mobile and less lethargic JDS. Werdum looked tentative, should have thrown more leg kicks, and his striking seemed to regress from his ufc title run.

JDS was always the worst matchup for Werdum. Far superior striking and excellent TDD.

JDS' boxing isn't very good either, his favorite punch looks like a baseball pitch.

He fell in love with that overhand right, especially after the Cain KO, but he was he relying on speed. As soon he started to lose a little bit of hand speed, he missed a lot and got countered bad.

Was watching an interview with Butterbean about his fight at Wrestlemania with Bart Gunn. He said that when he went in, he was kinda worried, bc Gunn was a brawler who threw powerful shots from weird angles. But the WWF had pushed Gunn into boxing for real, and he took it seriously. When Butterbean noticed Gunn was there to box, he wasn't nervous anymore and literally murdered Bart Gunn's career (RIP).

He said that if he'd have just done what he did to all of the other wrestlers he'd fought in the Brawl 4 All, that it would have at least been 50/50, bc he wasn't sure he'd be able to withstand it if Gunn landed, and Gunn might have, except he wanted to play Butterbean's own game, and was a beginner.

If Frank shows up to box, he's going down. If he shows up to do what he does, he has a chance. He shouldn't play Fury's game, he should do his best to make it wild. Unfortunately, he will probably box, and it will probably be boring.

that's the same thing they said about Conor vs Floyd. the problem is, you're FORCED to play their game. that's what boxing is.

He was 35 and destroyed Lewis 3 months before that fight.

Derrick Lewis is a fun and entertaining guy, but low skill and a record to match. I wouldn't read too much into that win.

JDS took life changing beatings in two losses to Cain. By the time he's fighting Ngannou, Dos Santos was already knocked out by Cain, Overeem and Stipe.

He then gets knocked out by Ngannou, Blaydes, Rozenstruik and Gane all in a row.

Dos Santos looked like cooked cat shit in the fight with Francis.

<{you!}>

I don't know who Frank Grimes is, but this is such a brutal post lol.
he's a character from one of the best episodes of the early seasons of the Simpsons. give it a watch, youll laugh your ass off. its called "Homer's Enemy" from season 8. once you watch it, @KnockoutArtist's post will be that much funnier.

to be fair, JDS lost to Yorgan cause he broke his shoulder. he didnt actually get KO'd.

I had to look him up. I do remember that: "I don't need safety gloves, because I'm Homer Simpson!!" Last words

For some reason I just remembered the famous Rozenstruik KO and how that triggered the still salty JDS a year after he had rubbished Ngannou's technique and ability to win - only to be KOed in mere minutes.

Peak Grimes.

Such a flush shot lol. Like hitting a punching bag!

I'm not sure there's a HW in all of MMA that has crisp boxing technique... that's why they're in MMA.

I have no clue what would happen if Ngannou won. I mean there's a possibility it happens. Would be hilarious. The whole Fury/Usyk leadup would be dead.

Obviously Francis is a novice boxer. The only thing he has is a punchers chance if Tyson fury gets reckless or careless due to fighting an MMA guy who is a little unorthodox. Why are there people that are unsure of this?

Yeah, BB could have won without that nasty KO. He was just having his Wrestlemania moment lol. Poor Bart Gunn never lived any of the B4A down, he had a chip on his shoulder and something to prove after all of that. Ended up TKOing Cabbage in ROTR, before ultimately being allowed to live by Minowaman in PRIDE. Dude had nuts.
