Right on. Aldana should have been next anyway.

You snooze you lose, Pena. She’s never getting another crack at Amanda.

Now there should probably be a lot more interest in this BW title fight. And it’s better for the live crowd, and ppv buyers.

War Amanda!
War Aldana

3 Mexican champions soon?

Friday is Cinco de maio

That should've been the fight in the first place, this is way better in comparison to Nunes/Pena 3.

Not if Aldana wasn't semi ready already. Now she's got a month to prepare yeah?

And some of those guys aint exactly fresh off the show either.

There's obviously a lot of variables, but I find it weird how much the boxing gets brought up. Maybe as Nunes ages, sure, but Aldana's not coming anywhere near the on-paper boxing skill of Holm.

Then again, I could easily play the same game from the other side and talk about how much better Aldana is than Pena, but eh.
Lots of variables, indeed. Aldana is my favorite WMMA fighter, but i I think we are getting ahead of ourselves because of excitement here. Nunes could, and maybe should, wrestle her if she has the cardio. She’s a better grappler. Beyond that, the striking could be interesting. Aldana isn’t Holly (Holly footworked her to death), but she has much more power. I think this fight is great if they brawl. Could see either getting the finish.

Props to the champ Amanda for taking a replacement fighter on a months notice.
she's the WMMA GOAT for many reasons and this is one of em.
so glad we dont have to see Amanda fight Pena for the 3rd time. cant fucking stand Pena. she's the Matt Serra of WMMA but far less likeable.
Womens bantamweight is at a weird point right now. Aldana does seem like the deserving contender but she got badly outclassed by Holm 3 fights ago. and Holm isnt anywhere near a title shot now - even if she was Nunes already KO'd her in the 1st round when they fought. so in a way Aldana doesnt seem like she deserves it? its weird. but hey, i like Aldana as a fighter and wish her the best of luck. i give her more of a chance to beat Nunes than Pena. i still think Nunes will win though.

So i know no one cares, but who does Rocky get? I'd preferred her to fight Pena from the start, but if she's injured, then I can only imagine a Holly rematch. She's the only other high ranked fighter off a win, but has been kinda inactive.

Since Holly beat Rocky 3 years ago, she beat Aldana, lost to Vieira, and beat Yana. Meanwhile Rocky put a 5 fight win streak together, capped off with Vieira. They really need to give some BW prospects some chances, really shake the tree.

Not sure if Pena can turn back around relatively soon, but if she can Pena vs Pennington makes sense to line up the next contender. But if Pena is out for a while it's not fair to have Pennington wait too long, she'll have to fight further down the ranks vs someone like Pannie Kianzad, Karol Rosa or the Tate / Bueno Silva winner.

Before Pereira and Wonderboy fell off the main card was looking great imo. You have Oliveira Vs Dariush, you have Ige Vs Nate the train who should main event every PPV, Curtis Vs Imavov should be a banger stylistically too.

In recent years the UFC has (successfully) tricked a lot of you guys into thinking that "fun" fights are worthy of being on PPVs. PPVs are supposed to be big and meaningful cards. That's why they cost more to attend or watch. Fun and meaningless fights are for Fight Nights, TUF Finales, etc., with the occasional ones being on PPVs.

Like sure, Wonderboy vs Pereira probably would've been fun. It's also a fight between #7 and #14. Why are matchups like this happening? Wonderboy should be fighting Shav, Khamzat, Colby, Usman or Brady. Those are the guys either ahead of him or below him that he hasn't fought. Not someone who's barely top 15. He's on the downside but still highly ranked. It's either defend your rank or try and advance. Not fight some fun fight. They already did that with Holland in his last fight. Which hey, was a Fight Night like it should've been.

I don't blame the UFC for doing so as a lot of suckers still buy regardless of the drop in quality so win for them, but I do blame the fans who've gone along with it instead of like back in the day where fans actually did let shitty cards flop.

I can't really put it into words how much I'd rather watch Wonderboy Vs Pereira than Wonderboy Vs Sean Brady.

Thank fucking God.

Aldana deserves it, Peña did not

Rooting hard for Aldana as I'm sick of Nunes.

I personally think her skill level is far overblown. The fact she keeps getting listed in some P4P lists in ALL of MMA is a joke.
Her last fight with Peña was a sloppy mess that hurt my soul to watch.

All that bluster only to get derailed en route to the big show.
Hope it's nothing too serious, though.
