Juey duty summons.

Lol.
"When 9/11 happened my first thought was sadness about how bad it was going to be for anyone of Middle Eastern decent"

My first thoughts were people I know are going to war but as info came in that day things became more complex. I'd be a liar if I said I was worried about how bad things were gonna be for people of middle eastern decent. I'd say my feelings were probably closer to Rage than sadness.

How I feel about dearborn and how I feel about the actual middle east are not one in the same I'm afraid. I have a very hard time not thinking they are all a bunch of terrorists and barbarians in those countries and there is not a high level of trust with me.

While i really didnt want duty I probably was not the right juror for this case and I'm glad I didn't get picked. To be fair I wouldn't want to be on something/wouldn't be proper like the Rittenhouse case either because I have a strong bias there as well and I believe in our system and people should get a fair trial. A loaded juror one way or another before kick off is not that.

I was referring to the folks you saw trying to give a PC answer.

I remember when it happened there was a fuck ton of rage amongst the blue collar folks, white and black and "stay the fuck out of Dearborn" for a bit.

I was worried because my dad's shop was in Dearborn heights.

I was in my early 20s, won't say im proud of every thought and idea I had at the time.

PSA to my sher homies

As long as you don't get registered mail that you sign for, you don't need to go to jury duty and they can't do anything to you.

Ive someone gotten summoned for jury duty over 10 times. I've only once had actually to show up. I was dismissed as a juror on an animal abuse case, because I had been stopped by a game warden in the past to check my license. Still took 4 hours, but I got my $15 for the day, and excused for the rest of the weeks. Only time I actively wrote to the curt to get out of jury duty was for a Federal court case, which was estimated to take between 3-6 months for some reason. They also you put you up in a hotel and pay your expenses if you live over 30 miles away from the courthouse. My house was 29.8 miles away. Luckily they excused me.

Based upon two cases, I decided that I will always show up for jury duty.

First case involved a friend of mine who was accused of murdering his wife. He went through four trials before finally being convicted and sentenced to 25 to life.

His case was taken up by the California Innocence Project. After numerous appeals, he was freed. After filing for a hearing, he was declared factually innocent. This means that he is able to collect damages from the state for his wrongful conviction. So, the law worked. An innocent man was freed.

In the second case, I was on the jury for a kidnapping and murder. After a 30 day trial, we found him guilty on both counts. Both crimes were captured on security video, so we only needed an hour to convict him. In this case, the law worked and a guilty man was sentenced to life in prison.
