Judges scorecards for Ferguson vs Gaethje

Does anyone find it odd that due to one punch at the end of round 2, two judges gave that round to Tony? I felt that Justin did more than enough in that round to make up for one good shot by Tony at the end.

Two judges gave the second to Ferguson and one to Gaethje. Gaethje was well ahead, but got dropped by that nice uppercut right at the end. I was wondering whether Tony stole that round, and yes, it appears he did.

So 10 seconds of one round negates the first 4:50 of that round? I mean, I know what you're saying but giving Tony the 2nd is criminal.

Yellow judge (Sal D'Amato) had the right score for the 2nd round. The only one who did. Crazy.

Those are probably scores for the round at the time of the ref stoppage in the 5th? Not sure.

10-7 for round 5 is complete idiocy. im glad i didfnt bet on any of these fights. it all smelled so rotten

10-7 is the best score for round 5, total destruction. Ferguson was badly beaten in the fourth even which should have been 10-8.

Yeah, if you seriously hurt a guy in the last ten second, it can change the complexion of the round. I could go either way with that round. I'd have given the edge to Gaethje, but I don't think it's criminal to give it to Tony.

I have to rewatch, but just from memory it seems a bit much to let a single Tony punch steal him the 2nd rd... Also, I feel like there could've been another 10-8 in there.

According to the new scoring system one fighter can completely dominate a fight, then in the last 5 seconds can score a devistating punch that almost finishes the fight, the judges have the rigtht to give the round to whichever fighter they felt was "clostests to finishing the fight" i know most of sherdog was happy when the new set of rules came out, but i knew it was only gonna make things worst.

Can you explain why you thought it was idiocy? It was as one-sided a round as you see, and Gaethje was hitting Tony with a multiplicity of clean, hard shots. Tony's toughness obscured how bad a beating he took in that round until the brain damage started to show a bit at the end.

Lost stream after 3, but it was 3-0 and the rounds were clear and wide for Gaethje.

why does he have a score placed for a round thats not over?


look at the jones reyes score cards. up till round 2 the scores were typed from computer. from round 3-5 was all hand written with pen. so half the score card was typed, other half was hand written

im no eddie bravo but this is fishy. also note that it looks like 1 person filled out every judges scores as the 8's, 9's and 0's are all resembling the same hand signature imo. weird stuff has happened in the ufc. if memory serves right i think it was Melvin guillard won a split over Tibau in a fight he got 30-27'd. Buffer never read the official score cards he just said "And The WInner By Split Decision, Melvin Guilliard."
