A federal judge ruled Monday that the Trump administration can resume sharing location data about undocumented immigrants receiving public health insurance benefits with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, starting next month.

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria’s ruling is a victory for President Donald Trump’s mass-deportation agenda as it allows ICE to use Medicaid data in deportation cases beginning Jan. 6. The agency had been blocked from doing so for months amid a legal challenge from blue ststes.

Beyond the obvious immigrants dont get medicaid lie, what do you think about the govt using private info to track illegal immigrants?

Honestly I would have thought this is how the Government works in general. Just seems like these departments should be working together. For instance in Texas if you are a single mother and you sign up for any form of government assistance. The OAG is notified and they verify that the father is paying child support. If he isn't then he is automatically put on child support payments. If they know who the father is. If they don't I'm not sure what they do most likely contact the mother and try to find out who it is.

There's no legally protected privacy left, or whatever laws do still exist, are they being observed or adhered to?

Se7en came out in 95 and they knew then about cross referencing people who checked out the flagged reading materials, Facebook was ubiquitous a little over a decade later.

If they want you, they probably got you

that is an inherent feature of state sponsored health care, you give into your providers to some extent. This was shown through covid, you work for government, they can make arbitrary rules and you comply or get kicked out.

The gutting of the 14th Amendment is not an accident. Remember the Antebellum Constition allowed for essentially any means to round up escaped slaves, who were also non-citizens until the passing of the 14th Amendment.

Same old story here.

Did anyone claim that immigrants generally don't get medicaid or specifically that undocumented immigrants don't qualify for medicaid?

No. I'm not going to say you're blatantly lying but this is false. The Fedeeal Government didn't make blanket policies on covid for anyone except Federal employees. It did pressure OSHA and other organizations to. There is no federal registry of anything to do with covid. And that's because of the 10th Amendment. States had the right to enforce their own covid measures.

This is overruling that. So as always Republicans are showing that they're all about those States' rights, until it becomes a political inconvenience.

What's the issue? Democrats have assured us that illegal immigrants aren't receiving Taxer Payer Paid Benefits?

We've already seen what happens when massive Social Services programs aren't audited properly

That's why I'm just exhausted from resisting my inherent cynicism tbh, I see nothing reassuring down our road.

I mean, I know mone of you "muh Constitution" goons have every actually read the thing and dont really care about direct violations of it, but thanks for confirming that you dont give a single solitary f*ck about Government overreach so long as you believe it doesnt apply to you.

That being said if anyone's privacies can be compromised, everyone's can be. So dont come up here b*tching about it if you ever end up on a Federal list sometime under a Government you dislike.

When is the last time the Federal Government passed an audit? Dont give me that sh*t about Government audits as a political cudgel against people you dont like.

Resistance begins with accepting that this is happening because the system always did allow for it to happen. During the Reconstruction era the protections of then 14th Amendment were curtailed by the Liberal Republicans even AS the writers of those Amendments were in the room. The Supreme Court "interpreted" them to be more narrow as the authors were still able to stand right in front of them and say "that's not what we meant at all, we meant EVERYONE."

This was because the Liberal Republicans were obsessed with preserving the Union as a measure of geopolitical relevance. So they wanted to be more affable to the traitor States. The Radical Republicans were against that and were ACTUALLY fighting for a Republic free from tyranny. The Liberal Republicans (that's what they called themselves) were tolerant of tyranny and Government overreach for sake of preserving the Union. And the Courts were complicit. Even if they're not it doesnt matter, they have no enforcement mechanism and the Trump regime knows this. That's why they're ignoring rulings they dont like. A ruling under an authoritarian Government becomes just a piece of paper that says a thing they dont like.

Look at the overall attitude. They keep chirping about saving the US, preserving "democracy", assuring the future of the Nation. That's all the exact same rhetoric Federalists have always used, especially the Nationalist Patriot ones. They were chirping about democracy under a constitution that said only white landowners could vote lol.

It's always been a scam, and these cycles of bullsh*t always roll around where they grab for more and more power. It's just gonna eventually come to a head. Dont make the mistake of thinking the system can be fixed. It cant. But something better can be built after it crumbles.

They can say literally anything, and they do. One day it's this, the next day it's a completely different stance.
............and the low IQ libs believe every word they make up, daily {<jordan}

You mean illegals that are here illegally that shouldn't legally be here because it's illegal?

Newsflash -- illegal actually means not allowed -- not “free pass because of my fuckin' feelings”

Nobody shredded the 14th -- they just opened the fuckin' blinds so ICE doesn’t have to play hide and seek in the dark. You come in illegally -- sign up for benefits with your name and address like a goddamn genius -- CONGRATS! -- Ya just RSVP’d to your own deportation hearing.

Still get your due process -- still get your rights -- just now the bus knows where to pick you up.

Government audits? -- Yup -- the government sucks at everything -- that’s ain't new. They can’t balance a budget, pave a road, or count votes right, but somehow they’re an omnipotent surveillance empire when you need a dramatic closer for your argument?

Incompetent circus or totalitarian super villain -- it can’t be both -- DUN DUN DUN -- or CAN it!?

And even lower IQ Repubs be like:

"If there's risk of even ONE unfavorable getting Medicaid then I'm ok with every resident of a State's data being given to the Federal Government."

Cant write this kind of sh*t. Oh wait you can, George Orwell did.

The 14th Amendment has been shredded repeatedly since its inception.

Lol@due process and rights under a regime that has tried to redefine "due process" as being handed a piece of paper and violates rights essentially daily, and of actual citizens, not even "illegals."

The surveillance empire is privatized genius. This data is going straight to Palantir/Oracle. The argument about audits wasnt to imply the Government was going to do anything right, so you just bolstered my point. We KNOW they're going to f*ck up and this judge just made it easier to.

Is it "every resident of a State" or is it, as the original post states " sharing location data about undocumented immigrants receiving public health insurance benefits with Immigration and Customs Enforcement"

Which one is it? Can't be both. <WhatIsThis>

This is where I'm at with it too lol you're preaching to a very well aware choir.

Excuse me? Privacy? lol...

Why are the recipients getting free Tax payer Benefits subject to privacy?

The IRS sure has a complete list of everyone who's required to pay for the Tax Payer Benefits

So Social Service groups can hand out Tax Payer money to people who don't qualify or deserve it... and no one would be the wiser? I mean, that's definitely not happening... like right now.

lol

Im on the fence on this; on the 1 hand it will help ICE do their job - probably in a safer manner.

On the other it seems kind of like secret no-fly list or patriot act like.
