JRE podcast is in decline ?

There's way more evidence Hilary's husband is there..as well as Bill Gates (whose wife left him over it), Richard Branson, Prince Andrew, etc

If both sides weren't heavily involved one side would have released it already

I am forgetting who was the lifelong friend of Epstein, has a charge from Jane Doe over an incident of rape, and has someone that wrote a book about her experiences with Epstein and Trump.

That said, no one on the left has problems with throwing Bill Clinton or whoever on the fire if they were involved in the sexual assault of minors. I don't know where the right gets this idea that since they are protecting Trump, the left must be protecting some other liberal figure. It is some bizarre projection. I don't care who. Anyone involved should be in prison.

I never really understood the hate. He has an amazing list of guests and that's what makes his show interesting. Rogan is just kind of there. Does anyone really tune in to listen to Joe?
Familiarity breeds contempt.

Also im sure his leaning to one political side further alienated him from the other.

I still listen when he has an interesting guest. He let's people talk which is nice, but also avoids confrontation unless he really knows the person well (calen, bravo or schuab).

He's really embraced the right wing bullshit (compared to the left wing bullshit which is probably 50% more nauseating). That immediately eliminates 50% of your fan base.

He also sold out a lot of his core values from back in the day which he said he wouldn't do.

It is what it is. He made his $$$ and put on some good shows.

How i decide if I'll listen:
Never unless theyre old school: Mma fighters (i train, I work hard, I have no other life BORING)
Sometimes: Comedians (will listen, mostly fun. When they get into how comedy is a science I tune the fuck out after 5 mins)
Somwtimes: Scientists (can be ok 50% of the time)
Mostly listen: actors (he's usually got decent actors who actually seem kinda cool)

That's completely true

There are just so many damn podcasts nowadays.
Truth. I feel like every fucking celebrity has one now. Who the hell has time to listen to all of these? I basically have to pick and choose random ones to listen to based off of the guest and even then I have to 1.5x the speed.

He was never the same after Elephant Graveyard exposed all of his stupid shit.

The exposed thing make me e laugh. Anyone with half a brain could see his show for what it was. Crazy to me that anyone took his viewpoints all that seriously. It's entertainment and a lot of that lies in his guests not him.

Sunken cost fallacy. I think people need to releazise our world was built on our undetstanding we need each other to survive. We aren't going to always agree, we don't need to be afraid of each other, and there is strength in empathy. The born rich hire con men to divide us up to stay rich. We fight each other and blame each other for taking our shit, when in reality it's just con men and the born rich leeching off the actual labor using paper work and lies

I mean honestly none of these people have actually worked. They just talk and push papers around as a show and pretend they are protecting us. JRE got sucked into it. The population is aging overall so the same old tricks aren't working. I'm sure they'll have a new season of blame other poor people ready soon.

You'd be surprised how many people don't even have half a brain

Nothing lasts forever, though he seems to be still going strong.

He is just older and way more set in his ways than say 10 years ago. His guests used to be able to keep the conversation firmly in their realm, or adjacent to it. Now though, like many older guys, they need to constantly revert to what they know. He still seems curious, only not nearly as much. So we get the same guests, or new ones talking about the same subjects.

It is completely baffling that rich people think that their efforts were the primary movers of their richness rather than them being almost entirely luck. The only person that I have seen that was rich that didn't think this way was the creator of Steam, Gabe Newell. He freely admits that much of his success was just being at the right place and the right time and having the right people. In fact, he often states that almost the entirety of his company success has just been very good at surrounding himself with the talented people. It is interesting hearing him talk as he understands that things could have been very different if the timing had been off or they hadn't hired so and so. He probably was and is a great guy to work for as he has no illusions as to what he brings to the table nor illusions of what others can't bring to the table.

I think its the guests
He is inviting unknowns ,nothing interesting to talk about ,hence low view count
He kinda thrived with unknowns and barely known people. It allowed both sides to speak freely without worrying about how their opinions would be perceived

Most of his fans were running in to hear him. Elon Musk and Jordan Peterson are well known but weren't bringing in those type of numbers for everybody.

Lazar and Corbell are big enough names to draw in those numbers consistently that they did with Rogan?

He's already interviewed everyone

His show is successful because of who he's interviewing, not because of him

There was a time where it was him, Bravo and Schaub talking about aliens or who would win between a tigers and bear.

I unsubscribed from Apple Podcasts when he went to Spotify and never resubbed. Didn’t know he came back to YouTube for a solid year after either. Also good chance most people listen and not watch on YouTube, as it doesn’t really add much.

It was a good run. It was good when MMA was peaking, and when he had some funny podcasts with Joey Diaz, fighters, and other comics (who didn't think they had revolutionized comedy and society and just riffed about random shit and told stories). Also, some good interviews with athletes, random entertainers, wildlife people, and Musk.

Joe was always a bit kooky, but I feel like as he's gotten older, he has become repetitive, and has started sniffing his own farts and thinking that he is actually smart and his opinion is valuable, well researched, and worth listening to in a variety of complex topics he knows nothing about, like Covid, global warming, nutrition, health, vaccines, archeology, AI, etc. The reality is--it's not. Not to mention his obsession with aliens and various conspiracies, which has become tremendously boring and embarrassing to listen to, as well as his jerking off of Trump and Elon (and I'm not a leftist by any means, but I find his worshipping cringeworthy, coming from a supposed anti-establishment guy, given how transparently ridiculous these figures are). He also likes bringing in people with fringe ideas and offering zero pushback. Oh, an alien raped you? What kind of probe did they use? Oh, Egyptians built pyramids with telekinesis? What other stuff did they move with their minds? And it's not done with humor either, Joe actually will believe these things. Worthless as fuck.

Joe can be funny in casual conversation at times, and a good interviewer that makes his guests feel at ease, but in each and every single one of those topics I mentioned, he is quite stupid, misinformed, and unbearable to listen to. Maybe his target audience (like me) simply got older. I'd rather listen to someone like Joey Diaz if I just want to laugh at some bullshit, and then put on a serious scientist if I want to listen to something actually interesting. Every once in a while, when he can manage not to overburden the pod with his bullshit pet topics, repetitive hot takes, and personal delusions, it can still be good. Recent podcast with Joe Pistone was good, mostly because Rogan managed to STFU.

Still listen to his podcasts. Some I have to skim through though. He'll have super boring guests have rabble on about something I am not interested in.

He's still numero uno in the podcast world though.

Too true. I think it would a cool topic to do a deep dive on for our new podcast, that we just both started right now.

I'll see you at the storage unit with some booze and extension cords Monday, partner!

Joe Rogan is the mainstream media of podcast. He basically can't say or bring anybody on that might piss off his sponsorship / Spotify. A deal with the devil.
