Firefly is one of the best sci-fi shows ever.

That's because it was STAR WARS, right down to being steeped in Asian fetishes with ain't no Asians in the foreground. Populate that with modern characters who are allowed to give a damn, and female archetypes you want to fuck, you got yourself a season of entertainment. One season.

This is dangerous ground for Whedon because it looks like he's up to his old tricks assembling female objects under the guise of female empowerment in an environment that's hyper critical to that formula.
