Josh Duggar accused of child molestation, resigns form FRC ***Update: Convicted***

If it happened to my daughter, I'd feel the same way. I'd be put in jail for what I'd do to any kid caught molesting my daughter. But it's more complicated because he was their son also.

Not really that complicated imo. They swept it under the rug.

First off, very sad and tragic. Don't wish this on anyone.

But here's my take. He received the help he apparently needed, the family stayed united and they forgave him. Kind of impressive. Perhaps their strong faith served them well. I'll confess I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm going to guess the vast majority of times the family never forgives and ends up with worse scars for it.

Not saying I'd be able to forgive a family member if they did this. I'd probably be in jail for homicide.

Received the help he needed? More like they sent him to a friends house to chop wood as a punishment. And just because the families public statement is that it's all good now doesn't mean anything. Sexual abuse causes long term mental trauma, especially if not addressed properly.

Sounds like the family dealt with it. I wouldn't call that sweeping it under the rug.

I would when their "dealing with it" involved sending him off to do chores, after which he reoffended. Don't see any mention of them getting any counselling for the molestation victims either, just group prayer. Prayer doesn't cure someone of being a child molestor.

Molests children, Talks about gods forgiveness and redemption. SMH...

The schtick about forgiveness by god has always been a convenient way to absolve one of guilt.

Just because there is no mention of it does not mean that it didn't happen.

If true, not surprised. Anyone who's studied pedophilia knows that a warped family up bringing can be a huge factor (among others). Those kids are probably raised with the most twisted ideas of sexuality, including overt regression and suppression perspectives. Christians (in general) can never concede this but biology doesn't stop for nothing, including old fairy tale, belief systems.

Yeah that doesn't really work for me. I'd be more comfortable with having him executed. Then him and God can talk it out.

Ideally yes. People like that should be offered the option of confession and absolution on their way to the gallows. We owe no soul any more than that, regardless of whether they want to try and claim some epiphantastical new found "faith" when they've been caught.

We've all sinned. It's why Jesus died for our sins. Sounds like he's asked his victims and God to forgive him. And we know God forgives him. But there is always a consequence for our sins.

God doesn't exist.

I have no problem if God forgives him. I just think that should be done face-to-face. And the timing will work out well because he pretty much has overstayed his welcome in this life. Besides, he may not like the answer he gets.

Matthew 18:6
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

God doesn't exist.

I am asking honestly here...what do you get out of making that post? There are a small group of what I would call "Internet atheists" that seem to engage in this stereotypical behavior of their particular group (Internet atheist). Not all atheists online mind you but rather the ones that seem to be online for the point of being atheist and for being strangely aggressive and redundant about it where any time anyone even mentions God they are there to remind people for the 1000th time that they don''t believe in him. Or mentions religion and they feel the need to remind you they don't like the bible. Or mentions faith and they feel the need to remind you they think faith is stupid. I am sure Rip knows you feel this way so what did you gain by telling him again?

Just because there is no mention of it does not mean that it didn't happen.

That's one of the most important parts of the story. If it isn't mentioned, is there any reason to think it did happen? Everything else was handled as badly as possible in this case.

How is turning him into the cops sweeping it under the rug?
Because the police officer that spoke to Josh was a friend of the families and gave him a "stern" warning. That same officer was able charged with having child pornography a couple of years ago

Also this whole fucking thing angers me beyond belief. Josh Duggar is scum of the highest order. He sexually abused and molested his younger sisters. We don't know which ones because their names haven't been released but we know it was his sisters. As someone who suffered from sexual abuse by two family members as a child, I hope Josh's whole world comes crumbling down on him and that TLC cancels 19 Kids and Counting. Also to all the people who are saying that we should forgive him, fuck forgiveness and fuck every single person who has said what he did wasn't that bad, that he was just a teenager and that it happened years ago and its only being brought up to make the Duggar family look bad.

This is for every single one of you
