His takedown defence is just perfect. Makes it even better when you think how good an MMA wrestler Edgar is.

It doesn't even look real.

If you were new to MMA and saw that fight you would assume shirking off take down attempts was nothing. Edgar is a world class MMA adapted grappler and he couldn't even chain wrestle because Aldo wasn't stuffing him - he was literally removing contact completely.

I was legitimately amazed. Edgar is absolutely one of the best in the world, and I didn't like Aldo's chances coming in to this fight.

That may have been the best Jose Aldo we've ever seen.

You could see in it how great Aldo's balance was and his timing of the incoming shot was absolutely perfect. Edgar is one of the best wrestlers in all of MMA and Aldo had his timing down, utilized his strength and anticipation to defend Edgar's takedowns by using his own momentum against Edgar. Even when he threw those knees that landed in Edgar's chest and only had one leg to stand on, he had seemingly perfect balance and core strength to just post and ride it out.

I guess even at a higher weight class and despite being match against a type of fighter that can beat Silva ( A wrestler ) Silva still has that Aura depsite his previous loses injuries and age.

Or maybe maybe Cormier went easy on him? Do you think that fight was agreed upon in advance that Cormier wont try to finish so Silva would step up and save the fight?

i don't thnik they agreed on anything that would be shameful for everybody involved and they don't seem to be that type of guys but there were few moments when cormier was kind of smiling at silva while standing up, plus it seemed that cormier wanted to try out his stand up skills against one of the "greatest" strikers in the ufc

I believe he's simply grabbing the back of Edgar's leg to keep up with his hips as Frankie tries to turn the corner.
