Jose Aldo's bjj

To answer your question: personally I think Aldo is more skilled on the ground, but that doesn't mean Conor can't do well there. Conor is a dedicated brownbelt who has shown hints of finesse: fluid passing on Holloway & Siver, slick escapes from bottom & a very specific escape from the classic TAM guillotine attempt by Chad. That said, Jose is a beast from a killer jiujitsu camp. He tied Faber up in knots in seconds when they hit the mat. Granted, that was a long time ago. Bottom line: Jose is better on the mat but anything can happen.

Fluid passing on Siver (no BJJ) and Holloway (a blue belt) won't help him much against Aldo.

But his work against no-camp-Chad was slick -- true.

People have been saying Jose Aldo's BJJ is overlooked, since about 2008.

At some point, maybe it's not being overlooked, maybe we all know it.

It's just like lyoto. People kept making threads about how nobody knew who he was. Next thing you know it's the Machida era.

Like when hematoma Hominick laid on top of him pounding him effortlessly? Aldo is a turtle on his back, purple belt level at best.

Trololololol

Not that it matters, since Conor was on his back begging for standups. Literally begging.

It was part of his strategy to get Medes to open up a bit more on the ground and create space. Guess what it worked. Conor got to his feet and knocked him out

dont get banned bro

as i said before, ground = aldo, standing = mcgregor

as simple as that, although aldo is no can striking (not that mcgregor is on the ground)

Striking (in thesis, McGregor strong point)

Aldo = McGregor (McG has the reach advantage, Aldo is more explosive and faster, however. Both are technical and have good accuracy. I'd give McGregor the advantage on a pure striking match, even loving Aldo, because of reach, but the threat of the TD plays a huge role on a MMA match)

Grappling (in thesis, Aldo strong point)

Aldo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> McGregor (It's not even debatable, really. Aldo is so superior at grappling that McGregor will do fine in not trying to face him in this department. Not that McGregor is bad, is just that Aldo excels.)

Also has shown tight, heavy passing and excellent top control, would love to see more submissions out of him but Bjj is more than just submissions.
