Thanks for answering for me, but yes, I would have retired a long time ago. Aldo has made a ton of money and lives like a king. The guy has 2 vacation homes in Orlando (a 9 bedroom and an 8 bedroom), for Christ's sake. There's no need to take more brain damage.

Aldo vs Cruz or Cejudo was the bouts to make. Aldo just re signed and probably has 2 more bouts after this so if Aldo wins I think they need to give him a step up in competition because Aldo made it clear he’s here to try and get the title, can he? Who knows his decline has been as steep as everyone is making it out to be and whatever he’s doing at his age to still be competitive and looks amazing.
 
Zahabi is 37 he’s got less miles than Aldo by a long shot but he is an old dude. I think Jose puts the wood to him…if he doesn’t that will legit ruin my night

At featherweight? I'm not aware of that. After Aldo lost the title he never really had any leverage to leap frog a 135 title shot during TJ's time.

Yes, when TJ came back that came up. But TJ got a better fight offer to fight Sandhagen. Doesn't really have much to do with match making incompetency.
 
I get and am completely fine with using someone like Aldo to test up and coming fighters, and potentially add a big name to a future star's resume.

This fight makes no sense though. Dude is 37 and is more than likely never making a run at anything. So unless this is to get Aldo a bounce back win after that last nonsense, I do not get it.

I'm guessing Aldo was looking for a gimme fight. Maybe he wasn't too picky about who they were offering too.

TJ first started talking about fighting Aldo in 2014, and aldo and him were talking about fighting each other all the way till TJ retired.

I realize TJ got fights that you and he might have thought were better, but many of us would have preferred TJ vs. Aldo over the fights we got, and many of us thought the match up made plenty of sense. So yes, for people like me who wanted Aldo and TJ paired up instead of TJ and Cory or TJ and Sterling, it was a matchmaking issue.

For instance, if o'malley gets a rematch with merab now, that is better for him, but it's not good matchmaking for the rest of us who'd rather see him against someone like sanhagen or umar.

Yeah but for some of these guys, they arent ready to give it up.

They LIKE being a pro fighter and like the idea of future fights on the horizon.

Stopping and getting old and domesticated is scary for some of these dudes. If Chuck could stay 32 forever, he would NEVER have stopped. He fuckin LOVED that shit. He always has that mohawk because he still loves being The Iceman Chuck Liddell
