What makes his takedown defense so good?

He doesn't even have a wrestling backround. He was able to stuff Prime Edgar 2X and Juiced Prime Mendes 2X repeatedly. Those 2 are GOAT wrestlers in MMA history.

He does. I remember seeing him in sparring and his training partner was really determined to get him down, but he just turned around ran up the fricking cage wall and did a back flip. Most of what Aldo does is feed the leg, put pressure on the other guys head and/or neck and then circle his body away from them. A wrestling shot is best done on a straight line so you can drive into your opponent until you can unbalance them or take away both of their legs. Aldo turns away from the opponent and pushes their head away so he can slide out from their grip.
