Masvidal 100% hired a publicist who is trying to revamp his image and turn him into a MMA commentator.

Everything he’s been putting out lately is basically:

“Hey Jorge Masvidal, go gets some fans”, just like Greg Jackson said to Jones way back when.

He’s keeping his ear to the ground and just saying what people want to hear.

Masvidal has a ton of fans. It's only the tiny hardcore sherdogger demographic that is split on loving or hating him. And so, you might be right that he is interested in commentary type gigs, but it's not like it's some long, arduous climb for him to get those opportunities.

He has a pretty bad image from a PR perspective for any legitimate outlets.

He’s attacked other fighters outside of the octagon on multiple occasions and caught a criminal charge. He’s repeatedly talked about how he wants to kill/murder other fighters, on top of all of the other inflammatory stuff he’s said throughout his career.

It’s not like he’s putting on a persona like some fighters. He’s legitimately impulsive, and uneducated.

He’s been trying to put out more positive messages through his own platforms (wishing Ben Askren well), or say things that are popular public opinion through shitty outlets like this one (CasinoHawks, whatever that is) in an attempt to build a better image, but I doubt he’s ever going to be added to a reputable commentary team.

I don’t have anything against him, but he seems to be angling for something serious like a spot with FOX Sports/ESPN, and those types of companies are just never going to take a risk on a guy like him.
