Its not hard to understand the praise. even if you didnt like the story perse it was still directed and executed very well

Well it does a very Stanley Kubrick beginning; racism is scary. It's like slavery, white people dragging blacks behind pick up trucks, having slave auctions, realistic scary. And then it abruptly changes to white people love blacks and some sort of weird sci fi and then he just kills his gf and... like it went from realistic scary to complete nonsense in a matter of minutes.

I dont seem to have a problem with it but everything you listed is not typical and you said it had a typical scary movie ending.

But yes whites loving blacks is not typical either but plays on the part that whites copy blacks in society which is true(nothing is absolute were talking in generalities here). They play on that topic was very unique to all viewers

Well it's pretty typical for horror movies to have some totally weird sci fi "twist" ending. Like that one Stephen King book with the "same day different shit" thing or whatever. The real scary ending is when the main character gets sold into slavery.
