Jones unlikely to take Gane down and hold him there. Jones doesn't have Ngannou strength.

You have to ask who would you bet on in a wrestling match, Jones or Ngannou? I think Jones would do much better. That said odds probably would be close. They are skill and strength and both guys have more of the other.

This fight has too many unknowns about Jones for me to be confident in picking a clear path to victory for either fighter. If Jones is able to get Gane on the ground or up against the cage and bully him, then he's clearly going to give any HW a tough fight. Seems more likely he will try to fight a dirty point fighting style and eventually get caught by HW power.

Maybe he is more focused now than back then, but I'll never forget the first Gus fight. Even a drained lhw Cormier gave a fully juiced Jones trouble.
That's precisely what Jones will do. As usual, he will try to dirty point fight from a distance with eye pokes and knee kicks. However, Gane is too talented of a striker and a much better striker than Jones. Gane will beat Jones at his game, and will eventually close the distance and KO Jones.

The writing is on the wall.

I feel sorry for Jones fans who are still caught up in nostalgia and not looking at this fight in an unbiased logical way.

Yes because Jones is the only fighter in the history of boxing or mixed martial arts to ever win a close victory. That shit just never happens.
Those were not close victories. His victories to Gus in the first fight and especially to Reyes were gifted decisions by corrupt judges. Those were gifted decisions given to Jones in order to preserve his "winning streak".

Well you seem unbiased lol..
Obviously I'm far more unbiased than you.

The first Gus fight was an extremely controversial decision. And literally no one (except the biggest Jones fanboys) thinks Jones won the fight against Reyes.

Uh Jones won the Gus fight according to most media scores

but keep peddling your biased bullshit trying to pick a fight with me.

obviously, you’re not getting enough attention at home

Ngannou is not and never will be even 1/50 the fighter that Jones is.

Dude shit the bed against Derrick Lewis - Jones shit the bed against Reyes when he was clearly bored with fighters that (quite likely in his opinion) did nothing for his legacy.
Or his pickle.

In both those fights Jones clearly won rounds four and five and at least one of the first three rounds was a pick'em. Maybe the Gus fight should have been 49-48 Jones, and maybe the Reyes fight should have been a draw, but there's no universe in which Jones clearly lost those fights, except the universe in which Jones was so dominant that a 10-10 round looked like a victory for his opponent merely for hanging in there. That's not a real universe, but it does exist in Jones haters' heads.

Jones is just a much better fighter overall. The only way I see him losing this fight is if at age 35 he suddenly got old overnight. But I don’t expect that to happen.

Seriously man? He looked old in his last 2 fights which were in 2019 and 2020. And he was VERY lucky to get the decision against Reyes. He's going against a HW at the top of his game. He got old a while ago. And he's been sitting out for 3 years.

Counterpoint: Ngannou doesn’t have 1/10 of Jones’ wrestling experience or skill. If Ngannou can hold him down, Jones should be able to do anything he wants.
Ngannou is like 60lb bigger than Jones. Jones could not even hold santos or reyes down. lmao

And beyond that, Jones is very offense the moment he gets someone down which allows them to get right up usually. But if his focus was keeping someone down he could do it I would think.
