Media Jones reacts to Ngannou flatlining Ferreira

Last time i checked ...Jones is still in the UFC Francis however...

Why didn't Francis sign the contract to fight Jones .. instead he left the ENTIRE promotion...

Yet its Jones whos ducked LOL .

Do you even live in reality

Why did Jon wait until Francis left the UFC to move up then? He only talked about it for a decade or so. He has a natural HW frame and the reach. He's tiny compared to his brothers, and they clearly all know where to shop. Jones ducked Frank, and he's ducking Tom too. Watch.

Jones never rejected ...he wanted to be paid and Dana said no...

Jones signed the contract....Francis went home

If this contract signing exists that you speak of, please post it so we can all be in the know like you. Because as far as I remember, Jones wanted Deontay Wilder $25m money for the fight (while Ngannou was negotiating with the UFC) and Dana told Jon to go fuck himself. How can Jones sign a UFC contract to be paid an amount that the UFC didn't agree to pay?

Francis walked because the UFC would not allow him to box, and the UFC would not allow him to have representation for fighters during negotiations (among other points). The UFC offered Francis an 8 million dollar deal with restrictions, and the PFL offered him a better contract with more freedoms, which Francis turned into $30m over two boxing matches and whatever he earned for last night's fight.

Francis didn't duck, he made a sound decision for himself that paid off. Jones had all the time in the world to fight Ngannou, and pretending they both weren't in the same organization is stupid. If Jones actually wanted to fight Francis, that fight would have 100% happened and that is straight out of Dana's own mouth.

1) Lukewarm isn't rejection

2)Asking for higher pay for a once in a lifetime fight, with the added caveat of having to move up in weight and vacate his LHW title is not rejection...its good business sense..

3) Jones signed the contract...he put his name on the dotted line... Francis took his ass home and got KOed in boxing ..

You can say whatever the fuck u want in the media...it doesnt matter

BOTTOMLINE- Jones signed the contract...Francis WALKED

Got paid $20m to get knocked out by one of the best HW boxers in the world, in a sport where he barely has a working knowledge of. $30m total if you count the other match, you know, against that other top-ranked HW champ. I can't imagine how much sleep Francis is going to lose in a king-sized mattress of 100 dollar bills. The shame of it all. Took a chance on himself and came up short.

Weird. What Ngannou did also sounds what like every pro fighter has done every single time they fight.

Post the signed Jones/Ngannou contract please. It can be redacted, just the part where it officially confirms that Jon agreed to fight Francis, just so everyone can be on the same page.

All these silver linings to essentially say Ngannou is a failed 0-2 boxer who’s currently fighting freakshow fights in the MMA minor leagues lol.

<JonesLaugh>

I have a solution... Jon goes first.

We give Jon one takedown attempt (Ngannou is allowed to try to defend) with follow up GnP until the fighters stand/are stood up (or Jon puts him away). Then, we give Big Frank one right shot (of his choosing) similar to Powerslap. Jon can't block, but can prepare/be ready to eat it.

Should answer just about all of the questions.

In all seriousness, if Ngannou and Jones really did want to fight, for real, and both took to social media heavily about it and went at it hard enough... it would put Dana and the UFC in a weird spot.

Obviously PFL would be down, and I know Jones doesn't have "Conor-level clout" (if that even exists anymore) but Dana's desire to kiss Jon's ass and bend over while he's running out the door to retirement is baffling.

Francis did exactly what he said he would do, and has been hitting nothing but layups since leaving the UFC. The PFL putting the Francis/Renan fight before the Jones scheduling was a good move. Right now, Frank's the king of the MMA HW's, and Jon/UFC is left trying to convince the world Stipe is legit and that Jon is the best HW.

If Jones really did want to fight Francis, it could happen.

Ngannou turning down contract leading to Gane fight ..

And finally

Heres jones signing his 8 fight deal ahead of fighting Gane...he signed ... Francis did not ..

Thank you very much

Jones had all the time in the world to fight Ngannou,
The timeline does not show that

Ngannou became HW champion around march 2021. After Ngannou won the belt, Ngannou was out that year doing tours with his belt in his native country Cameroon. Ngannou then defended his title and fought Gane in 2022.

Ngannou's contract was up after he defended his belt against Cyril Gane, which expired in December of that same year in 2022.

Both had contracts to renew and resign during that 2022 year but Ngannou left for bigger money outside. So in reality, jones did not have all the time to fight Ngannou, he had very little time.

From DP's BS Link - UFC president Dana White said after a fight card Saturday that the promotion released heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou from his contract.

Total Fn Lie - ufc's Dana never released the Francis Contract.

Francis FINISHED OUT his contract. He left with his name, his pride, & his dignity.

If Jones really did want to fight Francis, it could happen.

We ALL saw Dana tell Jon "We'll make this fight tonight".

Crickets was the response from the gutless coward.

That was pretty good of Jon to say.

My apologies on this part, I blame the edibles. I thought you had meant bout agreement, not long-term contract. Jones signing an 8 fight deal doesn't specifically qualify as agreeing to fight Francis. That just means the UFC owns him completely for the rest of his fighting days.

This whole situation seems like a "It's doesn't matter who is to blame as long as Dana and Jon aren't.".

The timeline shows exactly that. Both Jones and Ngannou have been in the UFC since 2015. If Jones actually wanted to fight Ngannou, it could've and would've have happened. Period.

Yes, Jones also wanted to fight Stipe who was the actual champion during that time span until 2021. Why would jones fight some guy trying to be champion rather than the actual HW champion first. Ngannou lost to Stipe and was not better than Stipe prior to beating him in 2021. Why would a former LHW champion fight a lesser fighter than the current champion in Stipe.

The UFC released Ngannou, which included waiving an exclusive negotiating window and one-year matching rights clause.

Also had they UFC paid jones what he wanted, it would have been made that night. It also would have been made had they given Francis what he wanted. You cant call someone a coward for wanting to get paid. Its kind of funny to read it from sherdog posters who sit on a couch and watch it on TV rather than actually getting in the cage. I read that alot on here from couch potatoes who watch actual men. I do not utter that for any Cage fighter as I do not lace up the gloves.

Why should Jones fight a lesser HW?

What makes Jones worthy of an immediate and undeserved title shot at HW? Perhaps because the LHW Jones had never had a single UFC HW fight in his entire career? Because of his unusually long transition to HW? Lots of reasons why Jones should fight HW fighters, if he wants to be a HW fighter. Not just selective fighters.

I simply said then, as I will again right now... if Jon ACTUALLY WANTED to fight Ngannou (or a version of Stipe that was actually worth fighting), it would have happened already.

I never said "it being contingent on this, depending on that, maybe if Venus and Mars are in alignment"... Jon and Francis were both active in the same organization at the same time. If Jon wanted to fight Francis (or even a relevant prime Stipe), it could have and would have happened, period. From Dana's own mouth.

?? He already got an undeserving title shot because he was the former LHW champion. Nothing changed and that happens in every division.

Again, jones could have fought Joe Banana at HW, but it makes no sense to fight someone who was a nobody at the time. Ngannou was a nobody climbing the ranks, and Jones was a reigning LHW champion.

Jones was also defending his LHW title during those years against title contenders. He then vacated his title to go to HW. One of the major reasons for jones hiatus for 3 years was a pay dispute that arose between himself and Dana White. Jones believed he should be paid more for fighting in the heavyweight division but the UFC boss did not agree to it. So the pay dispute was in place well before he even started the climb to HW or even Ngannou talks. You want to ask about his long time, and that is one of the reasons. Dana did not want to pay Jones what Jones thought he deserved to actually go to HW.

He can't because it doesn't exist

They're competitors and respect each other while both maintain an unearthly amount of confidence in themselves. Of course naturally friction occurs when you chase Goat statuses.

Exactly.

Jones absolutely 100 % could have moved up to fight Stipe when he was the champ, there would have been very little size difference.

If Jon wanted to.

When Stipe was active, in shape, fighting and defending his title. Jones didn't want anything to do with HW, other than stringing his fan base on like a school girl, teasing about a move up.

Jones could have fought Joe BaNgnannou at HW. He didn't want to.

When Ngannou was fighting, Jones conveniently took a few years off to bulk up. Jones vs Gane was not officially announced until Ngannou (the real champion) was released by the UFC on January 14th 2023. Jones was not officially classified a HW fighter until 2023. I guess an awful lot happened behind closed doors in those two weeks.

Jon never really wanted to fight any HW that presented a real challenge, just wanted the gimme's. Nothing more needs be said. Wanted nothing to do with Prime Stipe. Nothing to do with Francis. Has, and will duck Tom like the plague.

For some unknown reason, Jon seems to have some control over Dana and can do what he pleases. If Jon wanted a fight with Prime Stipe, Francis or Tom, he would have got it. He got his Stipe fight, just had to make sure there was next to no way Stipe could win it.

All I know, is in this stupid three way of "He said's..", and I got to choose between Francis, Dana and Jon on who is most likely tellting the truth... well... enough said.

That is false.

Jon Jones' new contract with the UFC was an amendment to his existing contract and Jones signed it in January by the deadline- 14th. The UFC explained that Jon Jones' had eight fights left on his contract, and they were all for light heavyweight bouts. So his new contract was an amendment for HW bouts.

Of course the jones and Cyril fight was announced after Ngannou left on the 14th because that is when they cut Ngannou and that is when they announced the Gane fight following UFC Vegas 67 (Jan. 14, 2023). It was on the same day. Dana white himself thought Ngannu would sign it by the deadline of the 14th but he did not and jones did.

I love the positive feedback. Now please fight each other, that would be the biggest fight in MMA today no doubt in my mind.
Agree. It will go down in infamy that Dana was too cheap to make the fight when he could have. Would have been the biggest MMA fight of all time. Doubt we see it now.
