Yeah, when Dana White of all people says "I wouldn't be surprised if Jon retired after Miocic", that should be taken to mean it's an absolute certainty. Dana has to have known that this was the plan from the get go.

Yes jones has been scared of everyone for the past 15 years. He keeps getting lucky. I’ve never seen s fighter get so many Hail Marys fighting in sheer terror of opponents time and time again.

For a guy thats so scared he keeps beating all the guys hes scared of.

My take on Jones is he cleared out the LHW division, the last few fights were razor thin and he got the win but still undefeated. He could not do that with heavyweight. He hand picked two fights and is retiring off that. Gane did have some steam behind him. I never bought it, Sherdog thinks every heavyweight with 3 straight wins is the new goat. Cain, Stipe, Gane, Francais, etc.

Gane is a good fighter, but Jones knew he had his number. Francais not so much which is why he waited on the sidelines. Jones knew he could beat Gane and is going to be old man stipe and retire.

Jones is a great champ. Great fighter. Call him the goat if you want. But it is not like he is clearing out the heavyweight division. Just a couple of wins to put a few more cherries on top of his great legendary career. So similar to what GSP and Conor did, but you are right, he is defending the title, so kudos to him and it is definitely beyond gsp and Conor.
