Jones haters in absolute shambles

Nah. He was former champ bro. Stop .

Forrest was a super slow dude and Anderson exposed him just like Jones exposed Gane. I love Silva, one of my all time favorites but that little montage that is constantly played is dumb. The skill gap between Silva and Forrest was as monumental as Jones and Gane

Silva defeated the #1 p4p and #1 WW in his 8th professional fight, capturing the Shooto (168lbs) MW title. He then won the Cage Rage MW title and defended it 3 times before vacating to go to the UFC. Then he wins the UFC MW title, set/broke countless records, while moving up another weight class 3 times between title defenses, garnering 3 first round (t)KOs in his third weight class.

He's a two division champ, and is the only man in MMA history with top 5 wins in 3 weight classes.

Oops!
You count Silva as a 2-division champ because he won the Shooto title?
{<hhh]

I haven’t really posted in the heavies over the last few years but funny to see the irrational Jones hate survived his hiatus.

Yes. Sakurai was the #1 WW and the #1 p4p when he beat him. You don't count that, but you try to count the WAMMA belt defenses for Fedro? Big fail, homie.

That’s actually my point about you, bud.
I take all belts into some sort of consideration. The fact that you do for Silva but not for Fedor is the big fail. Homie.

Mark Hunt is fuming

Damn hunt lmao

His butt hurt rants are always pure comedy

And he's entitled to feel that way.

I wish the wonderland of clean sports were a thing but sadly that's not the world we live in.

All our favorite athletes are using something and that's just a reality that needs to be accepted imo.

Shooto was the premier org for lower weight classes at the time, and had the #1 WW/p4p guy. That's a real belt/title/championship.

WAMMA is some made up bullshit. Clown shoes.

It’s just a bad look for the sport. Guy was caught, and done a lot of stupid things. It’s happened in other sports too, though. Not like UFC is unique in having a cheat or lowlife as it’s best.

So we have Hendo with two weight classes belts in Pride, and now Cormier, Cejudo and Jones in ufc.

It's curious for a 2002 MMA fan to say this, guess PRIDE was totally clean
Didn't see any, "Pride was totally clean" threads today. Create one and I'll respond with my thoughts if I have a chance.

Far from made up, Affliction was a major org that had half of the top 10 HWs in the world at the time. Shooto was a fine org, but I don’t even know if I’d say it was the premier org for lighter weight classes at the time (although it certainly was a very solid org with a good roster). Way back in 2001, a lot of the MMA rankings piled anything below 205 in one ranking. Militech was ranked right at or near the top, and he never had a single fight in Shooto.

But this is all expected behavior from you. GOAT criteria is subjective, but should at least be consistent. If you’re going to be counting Shooto belts in any way, shape, or form, then you should be applying that criteria to every GOAT candidate you assess. But you don’t do that of course, because you don’t like the result.

What about Fedor’s RINGS titles? Surely you must count those then?

BJ Penn and Randy Couture as well.

The skill gap between Jones and Gane was on full display last night, Jon proved why he is the GOAT. He cleared out the light heavy weight division which was stacked with legends. The heavyweight division is not as stacked in talent, I belive Jon Jones will clean out this division as well. #GOAT

He was one fight removed.
You weren’t there

Jones would be the GOAT even if he lost this fight. This just separates him more from the other contenders imo

Shooto is one of, if not THE, oldest MMA orgs in the world. It absolutely was the premier org for lighter weights at the time, friend. Sakurai was the #1 WW and the #1 p4p. That title had value and substance. Yes, there could be fighters (like Miletich) who were ranked but not fighting in Shooto. He was, after all, the UFC WW champ. Hughes was ranked high too once he got the WW title, but Sakurai was the top guy. Kind of like how PRIDE champs were typically ranked higher than UFC champs at one point.

Shooto paved the way for PRIDE, guy. They were around for years before and after PRIDE existed.

RINGS tourney titles are meh to me personally. Fucky rules and questionable shit. That's irrelevant anyway...

Let's talk more on how you want to disregard Silva as a 2 weight champ because "Shooto". Please elaborate.
