It's amazing that Jones can stay so composed/calm/calculating in the octagon when someone is trying to take his head off, but can't use the same tactics in a verbal battle with the cop. Some cops are going to try and get a rise out of you, so you'll admit wrong-doing. Jones did not recognize that he was being goaded. Had he remained cool and calm, he might have drove off with a warning.
