Jon vs Tom Will Happen - Fake Retirement

Or, the evidence sounded a lot more impressive when civilian sherdoggers read it on news websites than it actually was to the police and judges where it occurred.

Given the police and their tendency to overcharge and let the court whittle it down, I'm guessing the latter.
I watched the entire video bro. The victim/passenger and TWO other guys on the scene all say Jones was driving and then jumped out and ran away. The lady also says she and Jones were doing drugs and alcohol and when she gets him on the phone he sounds fucked up and starts making threats.

You do realize your interpretation of that video means exactly fuck all.

He got charged with misdemeanor leaving the scene. The end.

Edit - i wonder, if Jones name were removed and this was just some random, how many of you would actually see "the female witness was drunk and admitted to taking shrooms, and had a restroom accident that required she take her pants off" and would still think "well she sounds like peak credibility?"

So what is the correct interpretation of THREE people saying Jones was driving and then ran away? That they're all lying or what?

The correct interpretation is that even if they're terrible witnesses who wouldn't hold up in court, that's enough to support an indictment on misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of an accident that caused property damage without leaving your name and insurance information at the site (of course the allegations include him leaving the insurance policy holder who has all the insurance information at the accident site, which is a bad look for both Jones and the indictment).

Lots of speculation about the arrest/charges and it being just a car accident and seems like most people haven't seen it on this MMA forum, let alone the average person.

Which is shocking because the video is pretty wild and Jones looks really bad in it featuring a pantless women in the car that he was driving and ran away from. (according to pantless lady and multiple witnesses) Jon then drunk called to speak to the cop and then vaguely threatening to kill him and alluding to it not being the first person he'd would have killed this year.

The retirement worked. Story buried.

lol one of the witnesses was the guy he ran into! Not credible? Ok. You realize Jon's defense was that he was never even there and the girl set him up but when she calls him he's not like what's up babe, what happened? He's immediately issuing death threats if she says anything to the cops. I'm pretty sure who I would believe in a courtroom.

Jones still wants to fight but he didn't want to be stripped so he fake retired so he doesn't have to foght any legit challengers.

Then if Tom does clear out HW and Jones and Co are able to piece enough film together to direct and develop a plan, he may consider fighting Tom.

Especially if Tom gets some real wear & tear from the fights and/or camps (ie. Injuries, gets rocked, etc...)

Then with Tom having a ton of defenses and a more clear path to victory for Jon he'll be up for the fight so that if he wins he can claim to be the HW GOAT while only having 3 bouts at HW.

If Tom keeps destroying people in less than a round Jon will never fight him

Dude...fuck the "female witness" part of it. You have the audio yourself. You can hear the slurred threats from Jones to the cop on the phone.

If your claim is that's not Jones on the phone, okay. I sure think it is, if you don't...wow.

There are a TON of reasons (sometimes celebrity and the massive scrutiny and potentially unwanted attention by officers involved) that lesser charges can be brought than is maybe warranted. Drunkenly threatening to have cops killed on the phone is...kinda serious. Not the same as actually DOING it obviously but not "meh it's just a minor traffic incident that shouldn't even bother anyone".

Jones seemed to get away with one here. That's just not some extraordinary take LMAO. Thankfully it seems nobody really was hurt, life goes on. But acting like it's some egregious opinion to see and hear the video and form an opinion that he's been undercharged is ridiculous.

Problem is, any kind of DUI is usually some misdemeanor without a number of prior convictions, and his threats would be misdemeanor too (the person on the phone was not a cop, or else it'd be a felony), and threats to a civilian would only be felony if he was convicted of threats before, which he technically last had dismissed like 1 month before this happened.

Guy is just flirting with serious jail time

Jon is charged with the failure to leave insurance information at the scene of an accident involving only property damage. The maximum penalty is technically a $300 fine and 90 days in jail, but that's only because that's the maximum for all New Mexico driving offenses classified as misdemeanors that don't specify some other maximum; among such offenses, this charge is particularly trivial and unlikely to involve jail time.

The idea that Jones needed to retire to deal with this is more absurd than the idea that Jones should be allowed to keep his driver's license.
Where I live they frown they don't pet you for fleeing the scene of any accident. And as inebriated as he sounded plus basically threatening cops, he'd be gone for a while

He's back, so fast. Almost seems like his retirement was fake...

Don’t care anymore. He can fuck off. He had 2 years to make it happen and dodged at every opportunity. Move on.

Jon retired.

He might pick up an easier fight at the white house.

Big event in front of the President, maybe Alex, then retire for good.
