Like ive said in many threads now since the fight has been announced...Jones has been a HW his entire career... But had to think about weight cuts and weight management to stay at LHW ...now he doesnt ...just conditioning and skills for a full camp ..thats a massive difference

1) Jones is a bonefied star for the UFC wherever and who ever he fights will make the UFC money ...to think the UFC would let Jones sit out and keep them from making big bucks off him during his prime years for one fight is dumb...

2) Gane represents new fans and a whole entire market in Europe ( France) ... Why would the UFC force him or ask him to lose and risk a market like France .. UFC is well established in America they dont need American champions to sell cards there...but france or Europe needs them ..

3)Fight fixing is extremely illegal and the UFC would lose everything they are and have doing this ... They are not that stupid ... U dont gamble a billion dollar company on a fuck up like Jon Jones ... The only thing UFC has been guilty of is having STACKED/FAVOURABLE match ups to fighters but thats not illegal or fixing a fight...those fights are still real competition and can have upset endings... fixing fights means the end or the winner is predetermined before the contest takes place.

4) given what i just said ...Jones Vs Gane isnt stacked match making...Jones is hella inactive (ring rust/mileage) and is trying a new division against a younger, active high level opponent in Gane .. who just recently fought for the title .. This isnt Jones vs random HW guy whos really a MW who ate too much for the title...

5) And cerrone said himself the fight wasnt fixed...he just wasnt there mentally and shouldn't have been there agaisnt that level of opponent like Conor that night...he simply wasnt mentally into fighting anymore and its why hes doing movies now...

the fact that he said it and then didn't attempt it shows even moreso that he didn't think he could succeed there. at least he didn't think he'd stay undefeated. i don't know why you think that isn't the truth. especially with the way his fighting style at LHW was heavily based on exploiting his reach advantage. then there's the whole "i don't want to fight DC at HW and give him the advantage" advantage of what? being fat, less mobile, and shittier cardio?

Again, I like and respect you, man. I remember pre-Covid you said you were training to go pro. I wanted to see it happen. Any Canadian in the upper echelons of any sport makes me proud.

But this is 100% black, and white for me. You are either honest, or you are not. I don’t get the people that pick and choose this according to how it affects their lives. Especially the people supporting their lying lowlife sporting heroes. That’s beyond fucked up. And I don’t even grasp how I need to actually explain that.

I’ve had to swallow a lot of pride in the last cpl of years (I lost the income I had invested in due to Covid. I couldn’t afford to do anything anymore. And encountered serious medical problems of my own). Just to try to get much needed help for my parents. It wasn’t about ME. I know in my heart I’ve done what I knew to be best.

At the end of the day.. I value a good honest man/woman with no success, accomplishments, or accolades of any kind. Or those same people that have ended up in the gutter through no fault of their own. I’ve always tried to pay it forward. If a pan-handler approaches me. Yes I might be a sucker. But I give them the spare change I have. Or if I see a person in need. I do what I can. I’d like to think that I helped at least ONE person that truly needed it. And that it may have been a catalyst of change, perhaps.

I come from a different time and place. But I honestly don’t get what this world has turned into. Where good samaritans are ridiculed. And fucking scumbags are deified.
