Media "Jon Jones" when I get Ciryl to the ground he won't back up

I agree. If Jones can manage to get Gane down I think we see the Jon that just obliterated guys with elbows. He won't waste any chance to finish there.

I don't think he manages to get him down more than once or twice though, if that. The guys chirping on Francis being able to do it are willfully ignoring a lot of differences between Frank and Jon.

If Jon's Cardio holds up this is exactly what happens to Gane. I see Jon utilizing his reach and kicks to slowly push Gane's back up against the cage. Then he will force a clinch and dirty box until he gets a double leg eventually pulling Gane's legs right out from under him. From there he proceeds to smash Gane with elbows and punches round by round ultimately looking for the submission. Rooting for Gane but he has an extremely tall task if he cannot keep the fight standing.

He can't let Gane get close.

Gane doesn't ever WANT to fight close.. he loves the range with long jabs, strikes, and kicks. I would think JONES would be the one wanting to get close for clinching and possible takedowns?

I don't think Jones would just give away his strategy like that. I think the takedown threat is a mind-game to set up his striking.

That was after the groin shot or you have selective memory?

Yeah when I win the lottery I’m going to give every Sherbro a portion of the money also!<{clintugh}>

It's not like Jon even needs the TD, he'll have the reach advantage and he knows how to use his reach extremely well. If the striking is close at all Jon is getting the decision.

Made me think of Jeremy Stephens "When I hit them, they don't get back up" line.

Jon is a significantly better wrestler/grappler than Ngannou and it's not even close, and Gane just let him lay n pray without much resistance. If Jon is approaching this fight as a grappler vs striker battle, it usually favors the grappler, but Gane does have a puncher's chance.

I think it will be total standup and at long range, with lots of leg kicks and body kicks from both. Jones by close decision

There is a reason he stopped wrestling as of late. His cardio. At heavy weight he will soon find out what the deal is. You guys are delusional if you think Jon has a chance.

Round 2 (hell, even round 1) Jones finished Gane with ease.
Either way, Gane taps or goes out.

Gane better avoid the ground as long as possible,
Francis made Gane and Cain look like amateurs.
Imagine what Jones does.

<Wink2>
Once he pokes Gane in the eye.

Jones just don't pull out of the fight or get arrested for beating up hookers or something.

Oh oh oh oooooh he was gassed... DC was gassed... that changes everything.... I forgot Jones was allowed extra recovery time between rounds.

You do have to keep in mind Jones was on steroids while DC was fighting clean, steroids make a big difference in recovery.
