"Jon Jones was able to dominate multiple generations at LHW"

The first one is probably the best case although I think you could make the case Rampage had already exited his prime and Shogun was never as good as the 3rd knee injury.

After that you have 3 very close decisions vs Gus, Santos and Reyes AND he never fought Rumble.

He beat the Rashad/Rampage generation effortlessly. Struggled a bit in the DC/Gus generation but he certainly didn't dominate the newest one. Smith was beat up but Santos took him to a split decision and Reyes beat him.

Machida genuinely weighed 20 pounds less than jones when they fought, jones has talked about being 224 against Rashad and 227 against Cormier in their first fight while machida has weighed in at 199 before, 204 against jones, then 202 and 201 in fights afterwards

Vitor Belfort the middleweight who’s coach said he wouldn’t even be 205 pounds when he was going to fight against Anthony Johnson, and who didn’t fight at light heavyweight for 5 years before he stepped up on short notice against jones

That would literally be like if o malley who’s roughly 152 fought ilia who is 167 right now without o malley bulking up

Yes, he won 15 LHW title fights in 9 years by beating only the same people over and over again. While only having 2 rematches. Not even addressing his other 7 LHW fights before that over all unique opponents.

You're a stupid cunt aren't you?

No wonder there are so many dumb takes on who the GOAT/p4p is these days, lol.
(guys with 2 defences seem to be somehow in contention etc)

Defending over a generation (or more) is something that guys like Silva, GSP, and yes, JBJ, have done.

I'll break it down for you, TS.

Someone like Islam.
He'll need to be defending his belt and be UNDEFEATED this time in around 5 or 6 years.

That's what it takes to ACTUALLY be considered a GOAT, its why guys like him + Khabob are currently not viable contenders to anybody with an actual grasp on reality (ie. not you, probably).

Jon Jones beat his first ranked opponent before Islam even made his MMA debut.

He won his #1 contender fight before Islam's 2nd MMA fight.

He was still successfully defending before Islam ever got his 1st ranked win.

He is still a champion today, now in his 2nd weight class reign, now that Islam is finally a champion too.

These kids have zero respect for what Jon's been able to do in his career.

Thats the whole point really. There is no GOAT. p4p is worthless.

This is exactly what happened. And Smith isn't at the level of the rest of his competition

I've heard Sonnen say this alongside others, when in fact Jones is 1-1 against people his age or younger than him, he lost to Reyes and beat Smith, all of his other LHW opponents are older than him in age
Bitch thread from a bitch pink belt. Lol at taking Sonnen serious.

Im out

1) Which fight?
2) How did he cheat?
3) What does that have to do with Jon vs. Dom?

I think Jones is the GOAT*

But I'm fair ... he clearly cheated and or was even flat out caught every time he was signed on to fight DC.

People forget his insane daily changing T levels (clear sign of masking agent) and that he was banned from UFC200 ( positive test) while scheduled to fight DC. And no DC's levels were no where close as abnormal as Jones'. Positive again for the actual rematch over a year later.

Still with pictogram over a year later against Gus too.

So its not just him getting caught after the actual rematch ...

He never gave DC a fair fight and ...
He never planned on giving DC a fair fight even in their pre USADA and canceled fights.

With that said ... he is the GOAT*
UFC allowed it. I'm sure many of his opponents also were on stuff.

I mean the guy was the youngest LHW champ ever. It's like saying Hooper doesn't have many wins against younger competition. The best of LHW was his age or older, just compare the modern era to post-pride era. That said, he did have good timing when it came to beating those guys with his age advantage, similar to Stipe, but less extreme.

I'm a Jones hater, but these kinds of threads are nonsense.

Jones beat the best LHWs on the planet for a full decade. And he beat every style multiple times over, often beating them at their own games. He outwrestled elite wrestlers, submitted BJJ blackbelts, and outstruck great strikers.

If you want to invalidate his record based on cheating, I'm fine with that. He's essentially the Barry Bonds of MMA. But anyone disputing the quality of his opposition shouldn't be taken seriously.

Jones definitely slowed down too but there's fact that current LHWs are monsters. Jiri, Reyes and Alex are massive and Jones dominated a generation where the fighters were a lot shorter than him.

Jones nuthuggers actually think Jon took round 3
