Playing make belief and pretending Stipe is still in his prime is what's childish.

It's a geriatric gimme matchup that Jones is getting that obviously isn't getting much fan interest compared to other matchups that could be made. Curious if the Jones fanboys are just too dumb to understand it or what's going on. There hasn't been any disrespectful talk about Stipe compared to any other fighter being gifted a title shot, especially one that's 42 years old and is clearly shot as a fighter.

Jon is 37 and has fought once the last four years and is coming off an injury that took him out for a year. Why would you think this is a gimme fight?

This, Jones vs Aspinall or Aspinal gets promoted to Undisputed in his next fight, they wont entertain this for too long once the Stipe fight happens, if Jones wins of course, he loses then its probably rematch time.

Stipe has been retired for years, working as a full-time fire fighter, and was handpicked to be Jones' opponent before Jones retires and proclaims himself the HW goat. If Jones thought there was a more likely "gimme" opponent who could enhance his name, Jones would be fighting him. There's a reason Jones is refusing to fight anyone but Stipe, even when Stipe was injured and there was an interim belt to be unified.

Jon Jones isn't in his prime either but it's hard to disagree with him having almost every advantage coming into this fight. He's fighting an older guy who has been finished brutally twice in two of his last 4 fights. Bad losses can make you hesitant. It can change a fighter for the worst.

I mean, I don't think the actual fight is a gimme. Jon is one big ass unknown question mark. We saw him in the cage with Gane for a whole 2 minutes and now he's coming off a major surgery.
