As good a fight as they can make for Jon right now.

Hopefully he somehow gets to fight Francis after this, before both of them slip out of their "primes".

Won’t even be a competitive fight. Jones picks apart Stipe from the outside then violently finishes him in the third round. Can’t be a part-time fighter who is semi retired and expect to beat One of the best ever.

huge payday for Stipe. And an impressive victory on his heavy weight résumé for Jones.
Beating old part time fighter doesn't sound impressive

Stipe doesn't deserve this fight and Dana doesn't like him so i guess Jones insisted fighting him

Pathetic. Whats the real main event? Not really invested in watching a juiced coke head beat up an old man.

he's only 40. and Stipe's wanted this fight for years. IMO i think Jones pulled a Mayweather on Stipe and waited for him to get older, but it's still a matchup i'd like to see.
i dont think Jones eclipses Stipe as the best HW even if he wins. i think if he's able to tie the defense record of Stipe, I would be comfortable calling Jones the best HW the UFC has ever seen.

Jon pulled a Mayweather on the entire HW division sir lol.

Fighters have moved weight classes after 0 defenses. Jones himself started talking about moving to HW in 2013

His clearly oversized reach and height advantage made lwh look weak especially when very average skill level fighters closer to his size made him look average

So? How the fuck was he ducking heavyweight? He weighed like 220-225 max. Because he had long arms? The dude fought at his natural weight class. In your estimation what should someone's reach be before they're "ducking" the next weight class?

You people are unbelievable lol

sadly ill be rooting for jones here. Stipe has no business getting this title shot after getting brutally koed in the last one. Always getting gifted title shots without having to fight at least one more.

"Natural weight class" <Lmaoo>

About 2-3 years too late sadly... Ez win for Pico champ

If it were Prime Stipe, I’d easily pick him. I’m not so sure now what Stipe has left

He sat out multiple times to get title shots. If he had to earn his title shots, what would his resume be? Imagine competing for the Olympic gold medal but instead of competing, you just get a pass to the finals every time. That's what Stipe has done multiple times. Credit on him for winning the final but would he get there if he had to compete with others?
Which is exactly what Jones did at HW
