bookmarking this thread for when jon wins the hw belt like everyone knows he will.
I agree with you that Gane would be the favorite if him and Jones fought, and that he's a tougher matchup for Jones than Francis would be. But to say that Jon Jones has "no chance of victory. none. zero" against anyone is a bit ridiculous, considering he has never lost an MMA fight and has been in there with a who's who of legends of the sport. He of course has a chance against any human on the planet. Not to mention Gane is still a bit unproven at this point. We've never seen what happens when a high level wrestler tries to grapple Gane, and we've never seen what happens when he gets dragged into deep waters in a 5 round championship fight. We've certainly never seen what happens when he fights one of the greatest MMA fighters in history. If Gane takes apart Frank--and I believe he will--Jones' UFC career will be officially over imo. Before you start saying 'I knew he wasn't coming back anyway', yeah, I know, I was probably saying that before you, but there was still that 0.5% chance that he might surprise everyone and make good on his word to fight Francis for the belt. At least with Ngannou, he has a narrow path to victory--run around the cage for a few rounds and hope Francis gasses enough to use some grappling without too much risk. But with Cyril, he has no chance of victory. None. Zero. Gane is proven at heavyweight and matches Jones strength for strength and does it all much better. Even if Jones tried some Hail Mary take downs, he would almost certainly get shrugged off and lit up. There's no way Jon wins that fight, he knows it and it will be the nail in the coffin for his HW "dreams". I predict that shortly after Gane's victory, if that is what happens, he will announce his retirement. After all, he never said he would fight Gane, just Ngannou, so with Francis out of the title picture, it would be a great time to slip out the back door with a least some of his pride still intact.
He's had the option to fight this entire time. He hasn't, what's changed since then?
I don't like Jon but that's crazy talk. Gane's best win is Derek Lewis, Jon has at least 10 wins over better opponents.Gane will destroy bones lol
He don't want it either way.

Lol.hard to say... the guy still trains and lifts heavy.
maybe he's just waiting for his GSP moment when some dunce gets the strap and he can jump in ? maybe he thinks stipe can get the belt back?
He'd be on my GOAT list for sure if he won a few fights at HW--any fights in the top 5, really. But he hasn't done it and it doesn't look like he willsurprise he may.
Matter of fact, I don't think ANYONE can claim one way or another, since no one saw him fight at HW.
But to claim he has no chance? That's just stupid.
You are talking about a fighter that is in 90% of anyone's GOAT Lists for a reason.
You need to read the OPYou need to look up the definition of "officially"
That don't change a thing.I don't like Jon but that's crazy talk. Gane's best win is Derek Lewis, Jon has at least 10 wins over better opponents.

I think Jones got busted for something again and thats why he's not fought in such a long time. The whole "moving up to HW" was just a smoke cover for it all. My thoughs on him fighting again is very slim if at all.His career was over the moment when he retired from LHW. It was alright when he was fighting guys who were too small and past it, but once he actually started fighting better guys around his own size, things got too close. He isn't going to come back to that.
And he never is coming up to HW. He never even planned to. The whole thing was just him speaking shit and pretending he wanted to while trying to spin the media his way. That didn't work.
He's retired from fighting.
There are many counterpoints I could make but I think the most basic one is that while Jon has yet to fight a single fight at HW, both Gane and Francis are fighting at, not only the highest levels of that division, but at or near the highest levels of that division ever. We are seeing a rapid progression at the top of HW where really big guys with a lot of skill and power and athleticism can come in and move like the lighter divisions. And Jon is trying to break into that, having never even fought anyone at HW, and having his greatest strengths negated by the larger division. It's not a recipe for success.I agree with you that Gane would be the favorite if him and Jones fought, and that he's a tougher matchup for Jones than Francis would be. As I said, I'd still ultimately pick Gane to win, but you're just being delusional if you say Jones doesn't have any chance in an MMA fight against another human.
he did beat DC, who was the HW champ for a while...He'd be on my GOAT list for sure if he won a few fights at HW--any fights in the top 5, really. But he hasn't done it and it doesn't look like he will

Lol, that's not me. DC was a LHW. He gave up all his advantages to fight Jon at his own weight and went 0-1-1. Even Jones said he didn't want to fight DC at HW because it was a whole different ballgamehe did beat DC, who was the HW champ for a while...
So you can't claim he never beat top HW's.... (where's the other poster who wanted to use MMAth??? maybe that opens his eyes!)![]()
I tend to agree that he does have a price for his 0, but it's nothing the UFC would ever pay and he knows it. So in that sense, is he being transparent or is just a ruse, like many people think?I think Jones genuinely wants the big money fight. I think he knows it’s a big risk and he might be finished as an ultra-elite fighter so he wants to get paid if he’s gonna risk his 0. Personally I think he’s been pretty transparent.
