Khabib is not up there. He's up there for his weightclass, but's not enough to be ranked near the upper echelons of all time greats.

Let me put it this way, every great fighter who is now retired would have been considered greater if they retired at the right moment. Silva in 2012, Penn and Fedor in 2009, Aldo 2014 etc. But they didn't. They grind it out untill the very end and with that come losses, some very bad ones too.

A person who is not you, can absolutely believe getting caught for steroid abuse is disqualifying, and no matter you tears and you crying 'no you must value what I what I do', you will not get your way.

Half of Jones competition were on steroids. Why isnt the disqualifying there?

If ANY athlete entered any major sports league as a prospect and finished his career having competed more times in the minors, he'd be considered a "flash in the pan" not a GOAT candidate.

Charles has 27 ufc fights and they're the same age.

Charles was fighting 7 fight ufc win streak Jim Miller and Cowboy while Khabib was facing winless bums

There is no reasonable way to compare the legacy of Khabib to the legacies of GSP, Fedor, Jones*, Silva*, Aldo, or DJ

The Khabib lapriders who do it were likely introduced to the sport by Khabib. The vast majority of them didn't even see his first 8 fights in the UFC, or the real GOATs compete in their primes.

The thing is, even guys that aren't in the GOAT discussion are still ahead of Khabib or at least even with him imo. Usman won 15 straight fights with 5 title defenses. Holloway won 14 straight at 145 with 3 defenses. Volkanovski has won 12 straight with 4 defenses. Hughes defended 7x etc.. being undefeated doesn't = GOAT.

Only 5 guys Khabib beat have fought for a belt. 1 was Iaquinta who didn't deserve a TS but was given one because they needed a replacement on 1 day's notice. Another was Mcgregor who didn't deserve a TS at 155, tbf he did win the belt but is 1-3 at 155 in the UFC. The other 3 are Poirier, Gaethje and RDA. Only one of those 3 were able to win the undisputed title and that's RDA. So yeah he beat 3 guys that actually earned title shots.

It's neither.

One didn't do enough, the other is a rampant PED cheat (maybe he was the best too but gee it's an awfully big coincidence that's failed more tests than anyone in the sport).

Khabib is anywhere from 13-15 on the GOAT list.

Even if you dont like Jon Jones. You have to admit that the guy has a point here.

It hilarious anyone can think Khabib has a better record than Jones especially considering there is masses of padding Khabib's record both in and out of the UFC.

Jones fought the best over and over. Even the greats fall when fighting the best repeatedly. I don't think his record at a single weight class will ever be matched again in the UFC.

If any of Jones competition who were on steroids were also in GOAT discussions at any point, then yes, for the same reason people who use that criteria would disqualify them.


Why do you believe, for instance, if a batting champ in MLB is caught using corked bats, that a person cannot use that to disqualify them from their considerations of GOAT home run hitter.

Don't just say , like a child, 'it is different', as it is not different in any meaningful way. A person who is not you, can see cheating as exclusionary and it is not up to you to tell them they cannot.

Khabib isn’t even lightweight GOAT
BJ had as many title defenses, also held a title at Welterweight and sent George St Pierre to the hospital in a 3 round fight.
Frankie had as many title defenses
Benson as many
Charles has as many, and beat the same men Khabib did in faster, more brutal fashion, with subs and KO’s (other then Conor)

Jon Jones through sheer talent is no doubt the GOAT of the sport, his title reign began in the PED/TRT Era, everyone else also was on them during his first reign.
He also has one win against DC that isn’t tainted by PED’s and also beat everyone else.
When he dominates heavyweight through fight IQ you guys will see.
There isn’t another man whose ever existed I would choose to beat Jon more then 4 times if they fought ten times, Jon is simply that good, that talented, that smart (maybe deranged really) and gifted (or is it cursed?)
