Media Jon Jones says Andersson Silva was so far ahead of the game he'd still Be a top fighter today

Anderson has the skillset to be the champion but it would be more competitive. MW as a whole are better now and they are also bigger. I don't believe they are more naturally talented. I just think they earn more and can train better. The LHW guys I would say are less skilled than MW but they are so big nowadays.

I think Silva would probably move down to 170 vs moving up to LHW. The PI also takes care of nutrition nowadays instead of the weird weight gurus during Silva's time.

He'd have to face steeper competition, but I actually agree with Jones. Anderson was that good. He may have lost here and there, but he'd still be very high level.

I am 100% certain peak, prime Silva would have been an elite LHW much like he was at MW. High-level wrestlers would have given him problems, but Silva was dangerous anywhere, and they have to get the fight to the ground first.

You have to be a blind hater to think Jones would just cakewalk through prime-Silva.

Prime Silva was a once in a lifetime athlete. Unparalleled defense and any mistake could be the end of the fight for his opponents. Strickland would wilt in the later rounds from damage, DDP would get smoked early, and Izzy would probably get decisioned. I think he'd sleep Poatan too.

Anderson would have struggled (relatively to his actual run) with the MW division that came immediately after he got "My Boyed"....there were so many well rounded fighters who appeared with good grappling.

He probably would have done fine with the division of the last half decade. Less gimmie fights than during his reign but also stylistically a bunch of guys with worse striking.

With modern training who knows, he was obviously extremely fast with great power and reflexes so physically he’d be up there but maybe he wouldn’t absorb all the extra training.

The version we actually saw when he was a champion? Doesn’t make it to the top 5

Other than Khamzat one round of hell, Anderson would fuck everyone up.

He'd need to sure up his wrestling a little more probably as a lot more guys are good at it now. Not just career wrestlers. But with modern training I imagine he would. More focus on it these days
