Jon Jones has looked worse in each of his last 3 fights Coincidence? i think not
vs Smith: could have LOST VIA DQ
vs. Santos: SPLIT DECISION even with 2 blown out knees, Jones couldnt do sh*t
vs. Reyes: won by UD but OUT-STRUCK, knocked down, and horrible judging.
based on the tape I've watched, he's noticeably slower, less explosive, and powerful. His wrestling looks regressed. The man who thoroughly outwrestled DC couldn't take down a one-legged Santos once.
The Reyes fight showed a visible regression in chain wrestling and he gave up on attempts quickly, relative to before. As for striking - significantly less volume. The stats say it all, but watch the fights for yourself. He used to throw combinations, unpredictable strikes, he was good at keeping the opponent guessing. These days? You don't see a single combination in his last 3 fights. None of those tricky "look low, kick high" shenanigans.
Jones initially built his tainted legacy from an era where LHW's were shorter. 5'11-6'1. Smith is 6'4, Santos is a thick 6'4, Reyes is 6'5. Much of his game stems from distance and using his length to not get hit.
dont want to get into the juicy juice but he popped for Gus and Smith, two fights he dominated. He did not pop for Santos and Reyes. At a certain point, correlation becomes so certain it reasonably indicates causation.
he knows he is on borrowed time and a loss is inevitable if he keeps fighting.
guys like Prochazka would literally kill him, i just couldn't see him beating all three of Jan, Jiri and Rakic.
he was smart to move to HW - if he is going to lose, only losing to Francis(and collecting 30m lul) or Gane will keep his reputation intact.
we've already seen moving up and losing doesn't affect perceptions of you (see Adesanya v Jan) so there's nothing to lose, everything to gain going to HW and nothing to gain in staying at LHW.

Jon "was" great. He peaked in the DC second fight. But, he also tested positive for PEDS in that fight. PED's aside, he has looked terrible since.

hes only worth roughly 10 and doesn’t seem like someone with quality long term decision making. He’d be back fighting for peanuts in no time. Lol at him getting paid 30 million.

From what we'e seen it points to that yeah. Less and less dominant with time, to the point being questionable if he even won his last two outings. He's now inactive, and in his mid 30's. That's a lot of ingredients working against him. That's not to say he dosen't buckle down and prove those us who thnk that wrong. But i think it's unlikely, and his best days are indeed behind him.

"looked horrible" yet he won the fight.
Just stop and think about it...
Do you realize the ridiculous expectations we have for him?
His "horrible" was still better than the top contenders in the division....

Do you realize their performances after fighting Jones though? The questions is, did Jones break them, even though they barely lost to him, or were they never that good to begin with, and Jones Dodged a bullet?

I mean they might not be as good as to beat Jon Jones.
But they ain't scrube either.
I mean, they were at the top of the division for a real reason.
I mean Reyes believed too much in his own hype. "People's champion!" then came all smug and lost to Jan & Jiri... two monsters.
Santos got two knees surgeries.
I am not surprised at all that he lost his two fights to two top guys in Glover & Rakić.
And Anthony Smith proved he belonged when he beat Gus... he showed a lot of heart against Glover, but it was so brutal that Glover apologized for beating on him mid-fucking-fight.
So yeah, maybe getting beaten by Jon without the humiliation makes those guys think the rest of the division is beneath them.
And we did have a time where no one thought they could beat Jon. Now some think they do have a chance, and it changes how people look at the champ...
But we don't know if Jon is merely playing possum, so people pay to see him lose, as now "there's a chance" he will lose. And believe me, I don't put this past Jon. He is that much of an SOB to pull it off!

If "right before" means 1.5 to 2 years before then I guess you're right. That Jan lost to Corey Anderson, Jimmy Manuwa, and Patrick Cummins -- who lost to Glover. Gus' greatest fights were Jones 1 and DC, The DC fight being more than 3 years previous. Gus was certainly on the decline before Jones 2 and also injury prone.

this is always the case everyone is the next guy to beat jones but when they loose all of the suden they become washed up happens every time i wonder how were machida ,shad , rampage , gus 1 and 2 , reyes , santos , smith , chael etc doing before and after they loose to the GOAT

then vs. Werdum, 2 weeks before USADA officially starts random testing...no cardio, "altitude" problem
post-Werdum, in full USADA era: one win over Travis Browne, looks pretty good, then constantly injured and never fights...comes back vs. Ngannou and is quickly crushed.
His fall was much faster than Jones' and possibly due to same reason.

Motivated Jones is the guy who was two levels beyond Daniel Cormier and is the best heavyweight in the world by a fair margin. Unmotivated Jones is gatekeeper level at heavyweight. Only Jones knows for sure which version of him is most likely to show up in his next fight.

Jones was given a suspension of time served plus a month or so after 15 months of investigation into PED use following the second DC fight when he was facing a mandatory suspension of two to four years. What that says is that the facts supported Jones suing the athletic commission for an invalid suspension, but Jones settled for the suspension being lifted soon enough that he could sign a contract to fight and fit in a full camp for preparation.
The commission handing down a below-minimum suspension simply does not happen unless the commission has realized that there's no defensible factual basis for imposing the minimum suspension, i.e., the commission eventually found Jones not guilty and they settled on a suspension that saved face for the commission while allowing Jones to fight again as soon as he wanted to.
