Media Jon Jones: "I'm done"

Franci$ left a giant hole in UFC's HW division, and Desperate Dana bent over backwards to get a mostly-retired Jon Jones back as the new flag-bearer. Now that the semi-retired guy wants to fully retire, Dana and UFC have no backup plans and haven't yet been able to hotshot anything like they usually do.
Much worse by far is HW other than Jones Aspinall hype is absolutely the worst ever.. There just isn’t a fight worth a shit if Aspinall wins. If he beats Jones and loses after it would be disastrous

Once Tom moves on from Jon is when Jon will want to fight Tom.

The only way Jon gets back in the cage is when he feels he's irrelevant.

Didn't Ariel say the UFC were willing to meet his demands, as in, pay him the 30 million and have been putting in real good faith effort into getting the fight to happen?

I think they called Jon's bluff, and it still wasn't good enough.
No human being in the world can truly believe Dana White and the UFC brass were ever paying Jones close to 30 mil to fight Tom.

You guys acting like Tom is some super well known fighter amongst the casual masses. He’s not. This isn’t some PPV record shattering matchup. No one outside of those who actually follow the sport have any clue who the fuck Tom Aspinall is. He’s not some transcending name.

Why on earth would the UFC ever pay Jones 30 million for this fight?

1) UFC needed a big fight for their biggest PPV of the year on International Fight Week
2) Jon himself put out a tweet saying he got 15 million for the Stipe fight. Doubling that doesn't seem that absurd.
3) UFC wants to save face and try to salvage the situation they were left with Francis leaving and Tom holding the Interim for a year
4) Even if they pay Jon, they're still not taking a loss
5) Ariel reported UFC was honestly trying to do a good faith negotiation with Jon and if the fight didn't happen it wouldn't be their fault. I don't see Ariel's angle if he's putting the UFC is a good light.

I mean Kabin said he would retire after Justin, that was October 2020 but only officially retired and vacated the belt at end of March 2021. that was full 5 months in between.

Why is anyone surprised the UFC would hold longer onto their absolute GOAT? Jones beat Stipe in November 2024 and now we have may, thats like 6 months later, so one month longer that with Kabibi, no big deal.

The reason the UFC is indulging Jones is because they want their MJ and his legacy to stay intact. Almost all of their other legends had a miserable ending where they got destroyed by younger fighters.

Good drop the belt then, and stop being an attention whore. He won't because he knows the division will move on without him and people will stop talking about him. He absolutely cannot handle that but doesn't want to fight Tom so he's just stalling until the ufc forces the issue by stripping him.
