UFC won't make a move until they have to make it. The next card that a HW title fight will probably be on is the MSG card in November, there's no point for them stripping Jones now if that's the case. UFC are probably convinced they can make another attempt to persuade Jones into taking the fight, but they won't actually do anything until a few months from now when they're trying to put that MSG card together.

I agree. But I also agree with Helwani's analysis that Aspinall should take charge of his destiny and force the UFC's hand.

He should demand the UFC inform him of Jon Jones' plans. Aspinall should demand that Dana say "when will the HW title be defended? If it's MSG, he should demand Dana announce on X that MSG in November will be Aspinall vs TBD for the "World Heavyweight [undisputed] Championship".

If Dana won't commit to that, it means he's still considering Jones vs Pereira, which is likely what Jones told the UFC (Pereira or retirement). In that case, the moment Dana refuses to publicly announce Aspinall vs TBD at MSG in November, Aspinall should demand to defend his interim title against Cyril Gane now, in August or September.

If Aspinall did this, it would force the UFC to make a decision. And Aspinall beating Gane would basically make Jones vs Pereira impossible.

Franci$ left a giant hole in UFC's HW division, and Desperate Dana bent over backwards to get a mostly-retired Jon Jones back as the new flag-bearer. Now that the semi-retired guy wants to fully retire, Dana and UFC have no backup plans and haven't yet been able to hotshot anything like they usually do.

But they have another Francis, it's Tom knocking people out in minutes. Except his demeanour is more like GSP and he can help sell out English events regularly (if they want to put them at a normal time that would help too). It doesn't make sense. HW record is 3 defences, Tom fights 2x a year, he could be the best HW champ in history by the end of 2027 (knock on wood). Like...PROMOTE TOM! I want to yell at Dana, just promote this guy what are they doing.
