Jon Jones declines Stipe fight

So instead of taking 3-4 fights for $5M+ each over the last 18 months. It’s better for him to sit out and maybe get $10M if he’s lucky, and gets an opponent that will actually draw numbers to the fight?

lol. Jones fans always have been, and always will be ridiculous, and dishonest to the core. They emulate their hero to a tee.

Jon is annoying, a cheater and frequently despicable human. He's also unequivocally the best fighter in the upper weight divisions of the current and previous generation.

Jones has run ROUGHSHOD over the most impressive strength of schedule ever attempted. Cormier was causally running through heavyweight, looked unstoppable, and Jones beat him to sleep.

We know from court documents the UFC is paying an abysmal 18% of revenue to fighters. Its an open secret these guys are getting robbed. Why in the world is $5M a good payday when he's generated tens of millions of revenue each fight?

The UFC is bush league and we are missing Ngannou -vs- Jones because they won't pay them a reasonable split of the money coming in. Simple as that.

Then why did he promise Jan a fight live on ESPN after Jan KOd Cory Anderson.

Jon chose to vacate the LHW belt rather than face Jan Blachowicz; if you dont call that scared what do you call that?
I have no idea of that history.

I would assume Jon got tired of clearing out the division 4 times and decided it was time to move on.

I really doubt he's afraid of a guy thats lost to Patrick Cummings, Thiago Santos and Gustaffson. Guys Jones has beaten repeatedly

Is he afraid of the new LHW champ or the new HW champ

Jones cant be afraid of LHW and HW at the same time...while beating everyone.
or can he?

Okay, so why is Jon getting a shot then?
You do know that you can hate the guy without saying stupid shit right? I'm also not a fan, but saying stupid shit about the guy is gross.

Dude is a cheat and has been questionable in his last few fights against mid-tier fighters. He's made the move others have but needs years to prepare.

{<doc}

And he can't sell a fight for shit despite all his antics.

Tbh I don’t think that many people are really interested in seeing him fight again

No shit. He's clearly looking to get one big payday and call it quits.

Perhaps you should fight him

Well hes the best fighter in the world and undefeated. (He's fought the #1 contenders since being champion)

Makes sense to actually prepare for a weight class transition.

An undefeated GOAT gets an offer to fight a guy coming off a brutal KO instead of the champ. Why the fuck would he want that fight?
I’d say easy money is a good reason? If he is so dominant that’s great reason. truth is jones hasn’t been dominant in a while. His last two fights at LHW were too close and losses as far as I am concerned and many others are concerned

A you pointed out, this fight would likely not be easy money based on recent JJ performances. A Stipe fight is high risk, low reward. If he’s going to risk it, it’s going to be for the strap. That’s my read on the subject.

Makes sense. Jon is pretty clever.

Right!! That’s the whole reason. Stipe is more well rounded and well seasoned with KO power.
