It was really good. He slammed OSP in round 4 like it was nothing. Why does everyone keep saying it sucked. At the end of the fight he said himself that he could have gone two more rounds easily. It's like everyone knows better than him how tired he was.

Cormier slammed Jon jones in round 5 aswell does that mean he was holding up 100% at that point aswell? JJ looked more tired than he has ever looked before, its probably not due to power lifting per se as he didn't gain much mass at all but likely due to him neglecting cardio training.
Obviously JJ wants to defend his brand trying to make the fight look easy by saying he could have went longer anyone who does a bad performance is gonna make excuses. Jones did on the other hand look quite strong physically with his takedowns as OSP was even bigger than he was.

However, Greg is gonna correct his problems and he'll be ready to decision Cormier by ufc 200.

DC is really reaching about his performance. I saw in an interview he said this is who Jones is now. Citing the new drug testing policy's and weight cutting and the new muscle he put on and this and that. He looked perfectly fine in a come back fight being out of the ring for a long time. At times he looked like the old Jones and at times he didn't. But remember Daniels fight with Frank Mir. I thought he looked mediocre in that fight. He pretty much just held him against the fence for 15 minutes. Was that fight the best of Daniel or just an aberration?

But the pace he was putting on was slower. i'm sure he could have kept that pace with OSP for another 2 rounds. But he would need a lot more with DC, and it didn't seem to be in him. Maybe his pace came from cocaine but that did not seem to be in him.

I think so as well. I think Greg is going to have a sitdown conversation with him and say that the powerlifting needs to be seriously scaled-back if not eliminated. There was never a problem with any of your training before. Even though Jones said there was, his performances inside the cage say otherwise.

I don't think powerlifting is to blame, with the really small amount of mass he put on it really shouldn't affect him that much. Theres many athletes who carry 20 pounds more of muscle and have fantastic cardio, I think he can do both just has to put more work into cardio again.

He's never slammed anyone before like OSP so i do think its done him some good for sure.

That's not an excuse if anything it's the opposite of an excuse. He owned up and said it wasn't a cardio issue.

You have to compare apples to apples. I haven't seen a fight yet where he looked more tired than his opponent, so I think his cardio is fine compared to the other LHWs.

Im not saying that he said it in defense of his cardio, i'm saying he claimed that to make it look like it was an easy fight for himself.
