I don't think so. I think he just more out of hand to the point where it could no longer be contained and shielded from public knowledge once he got to be the champ. I think he was the same person all along.

I was a fan early on though, and really wanted to believe it was real.

When he started drunken driving and getting those DUI's, even my asperger-filled brain started to pick up on his maliciousness and the complete lack of responsibility towards anything.

They heard it but it doesn't mean they wanted to hear it, everyone was defending jones and calling rashad a salty butthurt teammate because jones took over rashad's spot and forced rashad out of greg jackson's camp. Rashad was telling the truth the whole time and fans weren't buying it at the time.
