I think Jon Jones at LHW is the most talented fighter in the history of MMA that I've seen. However, he hasn't looked good in a few years. I believe he lost to Reyes clearly, and I believe also that he ran from the lhw division, to find the win-win fight whereas rematch would have been loss-loss fight for him either way. I happen to think he wanted to fight Stipe, where he had everything to gain, and I'm sure he really liked his chances given how he looked against Cormier.
I think he's ducking Ngannou it's kinda funny. You can say blah blah blah this money blah blah blah, but at the end of the day, I think he would have signed up right after if Stipe won against Ngannou. For me, that's what ducking is.
AT the end of the day, the prime Jon Jones is the most talented fighter in history of MMA that I've seen. However, it's also true the match ups are what dictates how the fight goes. Jon Jones even at his peak struggled mightly against Gustaffason, long lanky guy. Didn't look great against St.Preux. Didn't look that great against Santos. Lost against Reyes.
He never had punching power at LHW. I don't think he will have much greater punching power at HW either. I believe at HW he will gravitate back toward wrestling people down, which was what really made him great in my opinion.
It's really hard to predict how Jon Jones will look at HW. What we know is that he hasn't looked good in a few years.
I think Ngannou fucks Jones up real good if they fight, but Jon Jones at his peak was the most talented fighter that we've seen.
