Will have think of a final score but a very good performance from Joaquin and as this is a character film that's what makes it great. But there are shortcomings...

As a film it's good but Joaquin's performance is unbelievable.

Joaquin definitely makes the film what it is but that's not a bad thing. There are countless movies where the main actor is the reason the film is as great as it is and if you take them away it isn't.

Like yuppies acting like crumb-bum gang members on a subway? Would have been more realistic with actual gang members.. But that is nit-picking.

Phoenix's performance is fantastic (not even as the Joker, he just acts well) but there's nothing else to it whatsoever. It's not even a good popcorn movie.

It was a’ight.

7/10, I guess. Forgettable, not much meat on the bone, kind of a weak pussy-ass story, but Joaquin’s performance & some decent lighting raises it from a 6 to a 7.

Phoenix's performance is fantastic (not even as the Joker, he just acts well) but there's nothing else to it whatsoever. It's not even a good popcorn movie.

Jesus Christ people don't even know what a good movie is anymore. It wasn't a good popcorn movie because it wasn't a popcorn movie. It was exactly what it tried to be, and it got the nail on the head. It was sad as hell, and it was funny as hell if you have a dark sense of humor. It was amazing seeing the performance.

Shallow is... Everything else they have been feeding you. This is the first unshallow thing we have got in a long time.

It was darker than I expected it to be. I wouldn't watch it again and I won't purchase on bluray but it was a good intense film. It's just not a film that has any replay value.

If you don't want to pay attention to a plot and just want costumes and explosions STAY AWAY..

Let's just say...even Martin Scorsese would watch it..

Jesus nevermind.

It was a movie about what one man went through to destroy him. It was near perfect. The movie was perfect until the last act, at which time it just became ok.. Redeemed at the very end a bit.
