He has good wrestling for the division, good leg kicks, and good cardio; but that's about it. One of the worse fight IQs at the upper echelon.

This post just shows he hasn't changed or fixed that issue. He is talking about how he should have won the title after getting beaten for 3 rounds on the feet by the same leg kick set up and finally remembering to wrestle vs Jan. Now he throws an illegal knee and should have been DQd and he talks bad about his opponent when he caused the issue in the fight.

Both times he was the reason he lost.

Sux because I think he's actually the most well rounded LHW. Maybe a little head case. But wasting time is his specialty. Fought Ion 2X and he's gonna fight Walker 2X.

Yeah, sadly I think you're right. After all the fun matchups between Hill/Pereira/Jiri, Ankalaev is going to mop up and be boring as shit, but probably be the best.

Some of you guys are killing me. Post Aljo/Yan 1, Aljo was the biggest villain in all of MMA. So many still despise him over that fight.

Now, Johnny Walker is the good guy, and Ankles is a giant walking turd for cheating. I realize that everyone isn't sharing this viewpoint, but it seems a hell of a lot more prevalent than Aljo/Yan.

I for one thought Yan rightfully got DQ'd but at least he tried to do the raise opponent to land a legal knee move. As to Ankalaev just smashed a knee to someone he was actively keeping grounded against the fence. Should have been a DQ

No he drew vs Jan and got a NC for a blatant foul on one of the worst officiated cards in UFC history.
We didn't just have a controversial fight or two, we had nearly every type of issue on this one event.

It should have been a DQ win for Walker. Hell any illegal strike that results in the fight stopping should be a DQ. That inludes the Basharat v Hugo fight. We didn't even see points taken.

Same with Mokaev, it's either a TKO when the ref stopped it or a NC due to referree error.


He gets hit with legal strikes and the fight is stopped, Mokaev is rubbing his head as if injured and they reset in a different position( 1 knee down instead of the catchers squat). Mokaev proceeds to spike Elliot on his head with the reversal which is illegal unless he has a sub locked in (which we saw earlier in the fight). All this happens because the referee is yelling someone is grounded when they aren't and due to calling an incorrect foul for legal strikes.

The entire event should be reviewed. We had multiple fights directly influenced by incorrect officiating and this fight (Ankalaev vs Walker) should be overturned to a DQ.
