fine w/ bulletproof suit jackets; not fine w/ women beating up men. got it.
To be honest though "woman depends on agility/skill/brutality to win against larger men" is not exactly uncommon in modern films which look to trade on semi realism, I would argue its what we see the majority of the time when films are somewhat trading on realism.

Were it gets silly though if when people get their panties in a twist about superheroes and the like, they have no problem believing the Mystical Power of Zarcore allows someone to punch though 6 inchs to steel but a woman having the same power? man that's just too far.

I honestly cannot remember a single film this spoiled the enjoyment for me with, I can of course remember plenty of films which weren't that good and looked to hide behind some "girl power" hype but that wasn't what made them bad.

Really though I think the mods should probably cut down on this cultural war nonsense ruining film threads, happy to see my post deleted as well with the others.

I am genuinely interested in this and I think also interesting to consider whats happened behind the scenes here with it seeming like Stahelski has basically had to reshoot much of the film due to Wiseman being a bit of a hack.

This^

It's shocking how much straight up misogyny is being tolerated here.

In a recent thread I participated in all the way through that had 1,700 posts... the person who posted the most didn't even watch the series, and was only there to spread misogyny, & try to infect people's minds to join his bigotry crusade.

As it turned out, the series wasn't even a match for what he claimed it was.

It reminds me of when I was growing up & visited the deep south how common it was for them to use the N word. I saw them talk so friendly face to face with black folks, but the moment he was out of earshot, they'd use the N word & start degrading his humanity as if he were a lesser being. It was shocking to me. This feels like very much that same thing.

It's a different subject if a small woman (with no superpowers) in a movie beats up an "all muscle 300lb man" in a fist fight, but that gripe should be presented as "unrealistic", & not in this way that support this unholy bigotry movement.

Using leverage & stuff like shown here is acceptable to reality imo.

...

Yup,

But it is much worse than that as the same people typically have no problem with normal men (manlet or not) achieving super hero like results, They cheer on Bruce Willis as he kills off hundreds while surviving. Cruise/Damon, etc beating up groups of men many times their size. Humans 'outsmarting' aliens who have achieved interstellar travel, etc.

Some of those action scenes are the most beloved, despite them not being attached to an iota or reality. It is the suspension of reality that they are cheering. The story teller telling them 'no matter the enemy men can rise to the challenge and beat them with brain or brawn', and they think (as i do) it is fun and awesome. But then you show a highly trained woman beating up men, in a fictional setting and many of the same say 'too unrealistic.... it took me out of the movie'.

I liked the trailer. I have been concerned about the film because of the rumours about extensive reshoots. I mean, if you are done initial production in very early 2023 and the film is not ready until summer 2025 then something has gone awry.

Hope Stahelski fixed whatever needed to be fixed.

Doing a version of John Wick with one of the hottest actresses on the planet seems like a good idea.

Sylvester Stallone beating up Dolph Lundgren is just as unrealistic (Stallone foolishly asked Dolph to hit him for real on set and got sent to the hospital).

One problem and red flag I'm noticing from the new trailer is that ana de armas is talking way too much the john wick movies have very little dialogue for john wick. She has too much dialogue.
