John Wick: 4/10. Ugh, what a terrible retribution film. Some of the action scenes, especially all of the ones featuring that female assassin, were just horrible. Keanu simply can not play certain roles.

Great movie , lots of legit Judo and BJJ techniques . The fight at the end sucked tho.

I did like the Judo/BJJ fight scenes but beyond that I didn't think the movie was anything
special part of it was because of Kenu, nothing against him but the idea of him as a
contract killer was a bit of a stretch.

Disappointment to his father yet again. Lol.

Watching Wick again recently (third time- yes I do think it's an awesome movie), I was struck with the notion that the whole "powerful father siding with his less competent, fuck-up of a son over an associate who is more competent and more likable yet not his blood" is a trope that I've seen before.

Eastern Promises and Road to perdition are two definite examples of it.

John Wick - 8/10
Kingsman - 9/10

I've watched a lot of action movies over the decades and it's getting harder for those kind of pics to impress me but I was still blown away by the action scenes in Kingsman. You (and everyone else) need to watch it while it's still in theaters.

I had an orgasm over the amount of judo and bjj. I literally trained that lapel choke by feeding it through with your mouth Thursday. Pretty sure I saw a DLR sweep as well.

Just finished it... started it again. The fact it was directed by Keanu's stunt double is awesome. Sort of an American answer to the over the top violent revenge films coming out of Korea. I found what little dialogue in the film to be well executed.

JOHN WICK 2 Starring Keanu Reeves Officially Announced

Lionsgate on Monday made it official: John Wick 2 is in the works, with Summit Entertainment to release the Keanu Reeves revenge pic and Lionsgate International to start shopping the sequel at Cannes. John Wick directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch are developing a follow-up to the 2014 breakout hit, with Reeves and screenwriter Derek Kolstad also returning for the sequel.

The film will be produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk, who produced the first film. "With such tremendous fan and critical support for John Wick, we knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell," said Jason Constantine, president acquisitions and co-productions at Lionsgate, in a statement.

The original movie grossed $43 million domestically and $35 million internationally following its October launch. John Wick also starred Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo and Willem Dafoe. Reeves played a retired hitman seeking vengeance for the killing of his puppy, a gift from his late wife.
